Toggle vs. Hold vs. Toggle All Prob

Playing hours of Diablo is becoming very very hard on my mouse hand. I am finding many builds which require the right button (core skill) to be pressed at almost all times. After a few hours of the pits…I find my hand numb.

There is an option which allows you to toggle…but..there are only two options. You can either toggle channeled skills ( which does not work for non-channeled skills) or Toggle All…which basically turns every mouse key and keyboard keys to act like toggled skills.

It would be great to see an option to toggle any skill which is put on the right mouse key and or both mouse keys.

I think mythical ring starlets skies is the culprit here…and the need to run the Pit for hours..lol

3 words - controller is better

Or a 12 button mouse…

Have you tried switching your “Core Skill” to your left mouse button?

well, you can always use a controller on your pc.

This is what I recommend!

I have/had similar problems.

My advice is to take this very seriously and to reduce mouse clicking as much as possible. Either through a controller or by focusing on keyboard skills as much as possible. The goal for your mouse usage should be to move the pointer and thats it.

  1. Melee-skills tend to automatically move your character and start to attack once you are close to the target. This can also be used to replace the left mouse click for general movement.

  2. There is an option to use the mousewheel for skills instead of zooming in/out. Using skills with wheel up/down is much easier for your fingers.

In my experience it will not help to buy a mouse with more buttons as the ergonomics are never sufficient to avoid this problem. In the end you just start trashing your thumb.

if you refuse to use a controller than make like space bar your move key bind dash to something else. Space as movement is a million times easier on your hands

Since i got a PC i play with a mouse (except flight sims), never had any issues.
In my work i also use a mouse daily. Again, no issues…

When i had a PS, i played with the controller, and it was a real PiA…

So, for me, upgrading to the 12 button mouse was… well…
No need for the keyboard to play D4…

I use W for force move, E for interacting.
A,S,D,F regular skills, R instead of right click and I put longest CD ability like ult on left click so I click it rarely.

This way my mouse hand is fine even for long session. Also for one button builds I tend to swap the button around to use different fingers.

Also before playing do some finger yoga and exercise hand regularly with some tool that you can squeeze etc. Many good youtube videos for fingers stretches.
Hope it helps.

That sounds interesting. I also have ASDF as my reg skills, Ult on my left click, and Core on my right. But, putting W for force move, and E for interacting is something I never tried.

But, in addition to it…I wish I could set the toggle on just the right click no matter if it is a channeled skill or not. That way…it would be minimal mouse clicks…instead of always having to keep the right click pressed.

Yeah that would help maybe in future.

What you might try is num lock trick.
Bind right mouse click to num lock lets say 1. Enter Pit or w/e press down 1 and turn off numlock. Your char will auto cast it all the time. Works fine for Pits/IH.

Other than that the most pressed skill should go to keyboard hand not mouse hand + rotate shortcuts to not overuse one finger too much.

Problem solved….thank you….I know the skill keys could be reassigned…but for some reason I never thought to reassign the mouse clicks….reassigning the core skill to G (not R in my case) solved the problem of having the right mouse key constantly being pressed.

And along with the num-lock trick, completely solved the problem…thank you to all.

Thank you for the insights…I can now play without that having my fingers paralyzed after every couple of hours..hahahahahahah.
