I remembered reading the accessibility blog recently and decided to finally look in the options and try out the control toggles.
If you turn toggle all on, you can toggle your attacks, even ones that aren’t channeled. This is really nice for Arc Lash builds and probably plenty of others. This also makes movement toggle on (both via left click if you have it in combo mode, or via force move if you bind that), which is nice for walking long distances.
It locks onto your target when attacking, even if they teleport/move, so you’ll automatically chase them and continue attacking with melee ability, or presumably just turn and keep attacking with ranged. It has interesting interactions with some other options such as toggle hold position. I think it would break my brain trying to play with both those toggles on at once, but I’ve tried playing with just toggle all for skills on.
Oddly when you have move/interact/basic all combined it will just swap to auto walk if your current target dies. It can also be annoying if you miss click trying to loot as you’ll turn auto-walk on and walk past it. I’m not sure I like that, so I tried it turning the combo key off and splitting it into separate keys which probably works better overall with toggle all, but then creates the annoying issue of not being able to both basic skill + interact on left click since for some reason the option is only movement + interact once you turn the combo mode off or have interact entirely separate, which I don’t really like either.
I think they should add an additional hybrid mode that functions for toggle and holding where you tap to toggle, but if you’re holding the key, it just functions normally and doesn’t toggle. With toggle all on I sometimes forget and hold the key like I normally would, but this still toggles so I keep moving or attacking when I let go and have to re-click.
edit: Also, getting CCed, even briefly, seems to end the toggle. I’m not sure if that makes sense given when I’m fighting the butcher with a melee spec it’s sometimes hard to tell right away that it killed the toggle with a brief CC. I think I actually get more downtime attacking the butcher with toggle on than off because of that.
TLDR: it would be nice to add a hybrid mode to toggle all accessibility control option so its tap to toggle but still functions normally when you hold.
I’d also like the ability to combine interact and basic skill into one button and just have movement separate while currently it only lets you split left click and then combine movement and interact.
edit: Also, adding an option to toggle force move only would be nice for people that want to use the auto-walk feature this essentially creates but want to use the other buttons normally.
