TO ALL WHO ARE CRASHING TO WINDOWS, I found a fix for mine:

For about 3 to 4 weeks, basically when BLIZZTARD pushed out the patch for 2.0, I have been 1st lagging, 2nd crashing with error code, or 3rd crashing out of the game. Following all crashes, I performed the following (thanks to me being an engineer and my son even smarter electrical engineer):

  1. Made sure everything was up to date: Window 11, sound drives, nvidea drives, and possible connected program. - END DID NOT WORK.
  2. Made sure I disconnected (option on Battlenet) after game started - DID NOT WORK.

Many other coding changes - did not work. After every disconnect, the following was performed.

  • Ping test
  • Ookla speed test
  • Cloud Fare Speed test
  • Packet loss test
  • Router reset
For all test, immediately following the disconnect, up to 50% packet loss was visable, around 8 to 20% jitter, and my upload/download would be down by more than half of each if not ZERO, requiring router reset.

Contacted internet service (for me Cox) - replaced router, no held, had them trouble shoot and if you ever tried talking to India for help, don’t, it is useless.

Attempted to call Blizztard - but they don’t talk to players, you can’t communicate with them. This problem shows how broken BLIZZTARD IS.

  1. Finally, after turning off on and off one at a time every option available in the game, I found the culprit and I KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.

TURN OFF CROSS PARTY AND CROSS PARTY CHAT

Yes, it basically makes the game single player for the most part. This is the only thing that work.

REASON FOR ALL THESE DISCONNECTS AND LAGG, is the game is attempting to layer you with other people. CONSTANTLY, this is causing data leaks (packet loss), lag, jitter and disconnects. I have all the data.

SO BASICALLY, BLIZZTARD HAS CAUSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE LAYERING, THE CROSS PARTY, AND ALSO THE PARTY FINDER. THESE ARE THE CULPRITS. You wonder why you don’t disconnect for 30 mins, then again, is because you go from a low player area to something there is a bunch of people.

AGAIN, I HAVE DONE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT BLIZZTARD BUT THEY DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL BACK. YOU WANT THE PROOF, NOW YOU CAN PAY FOR IT.

Well F me running… As u said, before the VOH release I had no issues really, except the world boss lag. Which, credit where credits due, they have fixed that lag and overall it does seem more optimized with hardly any lag or rubber banding or teleporting, even when playing with ppl from malaysia or australia. But, it crashes every hour or less so… kinda 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
Another thing I noticed, if you join a friends party whos on the other side of the world and then leave that party “back to your own world”, it leaves you still connected to the servers from that party until you leave the game and rejoin. My ping will stay at 200 after returning to my world, then leave game and start again, back down to 30-40.
Anyway, sure hope they fix this soon, so I dont have to enable/disable cross plat all the time.

I tried this but unfortunately it did not work for me. I was able to get through first level of a pit run, then upon entering second level the mobs froze in place, character rubber-banded, game disconnected as per the usual. Cannot believe their isn’t even a single blue post ACKNOWLEDGING the issue. A bunch of clowns and jokers.

Yeap, I thought it worked, seemed to go a bit longer but just crashed… Nothing has worked, think its all in blizz’s hands…

I was fighting the world boss, and just freezes for half second and exits game with the fenris window and error code. Its crashed while im making a sandwich in the kitchen, so seems whatevers causing this bug can crash it anywhere/anytime, and ruin a perfectly good sandwich.

Crashed again just chillen in town… Darnit, had high hopes, they gotta fix this &^%^

Let’s hope this works. Thanks very much for all the fault finding you are doing for Blizzard.
Love your work

Baggins, you should be given a job with Blizzard mate. I managed to play for a couple of hours with zero crashes.

that is because you layered to the 2nd level, it is a layering issue. I just ran the orbus guy, same thing. Brand new computer, out of the box yesterday, please continue to repost and let the dev/tech know it is anything that causes layering.

To be fair, this has been one of many fixes since the game launched.

However, this also tends to be helpful when you have a bad connection/path to begin with.

I run mine will all that enabled, don’t have issues really. Sure, once in a while I hit a busy town hub and it may stumble for second, but that’s been it.

But other than that, works fine.

These problems seem to be wildly varying, not everyone gets them, and there are too many factors that can cause these issues to appear, on both ends.

Good luck with that.

I thought it was too good to be true. I went a good few hours without a crash; however, there is still an issue. and it started again.

It is now crashing at particular places. The boss when you are completing a Realmwalker, Blood Maiden, etc. It’s never just when you are walking along. And you always miss out on the spoils and waste 'Opals, Incense, and Potions.

I would hate to think what the HC players are going through and whether this is having an impact on them.

The other issue is that I can no longer talk or party up with half of my clan.

I am considering not playing for a couple of weeks until they get it sorted.

That happens to me exactly as well, during maiden or during realm walker, but it seems to crash after about the same amount of time. I can sense what run the crash is going to happen i’ve gotten so used to it. Like I did 2-3 horde runs, then a couple quick pit runs, screwed around in town, then started a realmwalker and I just knew I’d be in the seething realm and its going to crash. Cause it will crash in town as well, if ya give it the time. When I was making dinner and afk on n off; it crashed in town while I was checkin on my bird in the oven.
Cross platform/party chat i’ve never had any issues with, and almost thought it worked as well, but alas… here we are.

Still crashing in latest patch 2.0.3A :frowning:

I posted this to another spot, my new system is R7, 32 ram, 2 terra, Nvidea 4070 super, win 11. Today, new GE update (don’t know if it will help), new win 11 update. Finally, sometimes I have to reset router for 30 to 45 secs. Hope this helps. If the assssss hats at Blizztard would fix the stability of the game, it is the layering, happens constantly and causes data leakage.

After the latest patch i started crashing every halfhour or so to desktop. Trying this fix out to see if it helps. Blizzard doesnt seem to be trying to fix it at all, they are too busy trying to balance the spiritborn i guess.

check what was the crash reason - if windows system log contains something like “video driver was restarted” - this was all about nvidia drivers + d4. happens to me as well on 3080ti, but gone after I changed (back) to driver version 561.09.

To all getting fenris crashes, adding -nostreamline to command line arguments in game settings of bnet app fixed it. No crashes today or yesterday!!!

Hardcore player here, just lost my only character in T3 hordes last night. Pretty damn pissed.
