TISHU's mini review/feedback

I’ve been a Diablo fan since the first iteration and I want to say to all the team members what a great job you’ve all done. This is very close if not one of the best in the series. The offline only I don’t believe is relevant anymore as tackling world/bosses, and legions with randoms are pretty neat even if they are the few interactions you have with other players.

Graphics:
-The return to the dark gritty look is great! D3’s colorful cartoony WOW look was a misfire (unicorns/fluffy clouds sigh…). I’ve been continually amazed by the share detail put into the maps. One issue is the Biomes could be pushed further, as everything feels the same, perhaps that’s the trade-off of a more muted color palette. but a bit more snow in fractured peaks or indication it was cold etc

-The world map was a bit hard to get used to over the Acts from the previous game but it grew on me.

Sound:
-Fantastic. the are some creepy ambiance going on and I’ve had some great orchestral battle music at some points. well, done sound team.
-you guys gave voice to all the NPCs in the game but didn’t bother giving voice variations to the players? come on now

Game Design:
-Overall the foundation and game design are very well done. The addition of lucky hit/vulnerable/overpower is great. However, it’s borderline overly designed. I agree that vulnerable/crit shouldn’t be a must-have, but you need to embrace the chaos a lot more. Build creativity needs to be pushed way further; Stuff like “+% to vulnerable dmg while you have a barrier” isn’t’ interesting. There are some glimmers of good stuff in the malignant but it should honestly just be aspects like +amount # of wolves. Near the end of D2, you had teleporting barbs!! let’s get some of that stuff going.
-paragon board/glyphs, they’re great. needs more paragon boards as well as legendary/rare glyphs. This will really push creativity.

Story/bosses
-Meh nothing to cry home about, but Lilith is vastly superior in design to the previous D3 iteration.

itemization:
-Bring back belts, and set items. it’s all about the gear why take away belts from the previous games? it doesn’t have to be visible. Again embrace the chaos; honestly if I had it my way I’d probably have toe rings for each toe/finger/ear/nose… =). Set items made us weigh the outsize bonus of a set bonus vs losing a slot.

Microtransactions:
okay so despite what everyone thinks, it is necessary to have this in order to get continued support/maintain servers.
-Store items are overpriced I’m guessing this is intentional as there is just a lack of items.
But somewhere between $3-5 should be the max for anything
-Can we do away with titles already? No one cares so don’t even bother adding them to battlepasses/rewards etc.
-More cosmetics/hairdos/pets/mounts

Last words
keep up the great work. Many of the complaints from the player base are superficial but valid and hopefully will be fixed over time.

Maybe, if the game was free to play. However, subscription-based models are becoming a better model for supporting the game, as then they actually have to make content instead of riding the whale wave of useless cosmetic purchases that benefit no one.

They already got an upfront payment for the game. Diablo 3 did just fine all of these years and did not need MTX to survive nor be updated and maintained.

In the end though, I am happy for you that you enjoyed the game.

pls come and buy used cars and crypto coins from me.
People like you are dream customers for every scam module on earth

How far did you get in the game?

End game made it to tier 60 nm dungeons pre-patch as a sorc.

Then I wish I was enjoying the game as you are. Got to 85 did a nm 70 and quit in the pre patch

More item slots sounds nice. Belt and shoulder would be something i’d like to return.

Really good review! I 100% agree
