Tired of every mob exploding after death after defeating it?

I really wish D4 would reduce the number of mobs that explode you AFTER you finish the fight.

It really is a lazy and un-fun mechanic and one of the worst i have ever seen in an ARPG, and yet the diablo 4 team have embraced it with ghusto and it seems like every pack i fight detonates after their corpse falls to the ground.

Ranxx said it best, its the whomever invented the mechanic needs to be harshly reprimanded.

Poison pools. Poison pools EVERYWHERE. Bleh.

(Yeah, I despise this mechanic as well).

While I get what you are saying…it is basically another time sink/trap to avoid.

The worst part about the poison pools is how long they persist after the fight is over.

Mate, Baldur’s Gate 3, the best game of 2023, has the same mechanic with a lot of enemies. That’s something that RPGs do and they usually get you off guard. It is annoying, yes, that’s the idea. Think fast and cap you resistances.

My favorite though… when you freeze a pack and then explode with ice-chunks of body-parts rag-doll fly everywhere.

They did this in D3 too. It can be annoying sometimes. It does seem like a cheap shot too me.

I mean this is the same game that has 30 humans pop out of the ground and ambush you (no they aren’t zombies).

Yeah, that’s pretty ridiculous, especially when they come out of a stone or marble floor.

S6 will have mobs that will now die immediately instead of taking > 0 seconds to die, explode. So you will have less time to get out of their AoE explosions but they will be immediate.

You might say it’s pure Hell.

Yeah, that old F.U Predator trick kind of tees me off too.

Need anti-explode potion.

Max resist should make you very strong against it, but it doesn’t

Problem with this game is they balance around max resist and armor…

You are indeed very strong against those, just don’t expect your res and armor capped Sorc with 19K not getting 1 shotted by a rain of fire or an elemental hit from an elite while you are not in a barrier. Same applies for Rogues without Dark Shrouds, Druid with fortify, etc. The game has the options and you can easily survive those by… playing the game! Do you really expect to cap res and facetank everything? You can, but you’ll have to grind good gear and even then you will be facing endgame stuff explodes and will hurt you.
Come on, man. If you check my threads you’ll see I am all ‘‘let’s make it affordable for players that don’t want to be tryhards’’ but this complain does not make sense at all in any way you look around it. This is just a guy that wants to play pressing 1 button and never dying.

The same mechanics? In a turn based RPG? Wow… that’s a new one. You do have to plan BEFORE you attack in BG3 but you don’t have the real time “dodge this or else” mechanics. Totally different problem.

Yep, I hate this too. I don’t know why there’s too many exploding mobs when they die. This is probably one of the most dangerous mechanics in game. It’s even deadlier in hardcore.

I think it’s annoying.

You clearly don’t know stealth mechanics work in BG3 (Or DnD). You still do a saving throw when the enemy has that mechanic (like steel guards) and if you didn’t know this is because you didn’t play Honor Mode.

The example is valid for those who know both games well. Maybe I was expecting too much from a guy that invokes Raxx in a ‘‘I can’t even do World Tier 2’’ thread and people that agree with him.

I’ve never found them difficult to deal with, a bit annoying sometimes but they are fine imo. The poison pools can be a much bigger problem to me, though using a potion mostly negates those as well.

Diablo 4 is a Micheal Bay movie.
