Tips to defeat WT4 capstone dungeon boss?

(SPOILERS) When searching for any helpful info on tips and tricks to defeat Elias in the WT4 capstone dungeon, feedback is really just “you’re not good enough, get better”.

Are there any actual fight mechanic strategies here, or is this just “your DPS is doo doo”?

Use your immune, stack defensive rolls on your gear, if he’s one tapping you - you’re not good enough/too low a level.

When dealing with the circle aoe spawns I tried moving around to room to avoid it bugging out and aoe’ing the entire room. Trying to stand between the circles seems impossible and I still got hit. Best thing is try to run around the outside to fish it out a bit if having trouble.

Advice will really depend on your current level.

68 Barb, Fortify/Overpower build. Tried to run it with two pubs, a 67 Druid and 66 Necro…

… we got folded like a Subway sandwich. Multiple times.

Always get him down to his last tier of health and he literally opens the gates of hell with endless Oppressors and chicks with wings and I’m toast.

Ill help ya, 86 here if ya want

He scales pretty heavily with a group, you’re better off attempting it solo or with ONE other person. His damage output just gets nutty past that.

During early phases you want to be pacing back and forth to avoid his quad fireball crap.

During later phases you want to be close to him at all times so you can transition between the firewalls he does on the ground.

The succubus summons suck for melee, I don’t know what you can really do to deal with that aside from try to wipe them out without letting the boss go off your screen so he doesn’t cross screen you with his fireballs.

I’m not familiar with that build, maybe your damage isn’t high enough. I did it at 63 with a WW barb, but it took me 10-15 tries.

One of those elixirs that boosts your armor by 900 really helped me.

Yeah man I’d recommend soloing it. And maybe trying a different build or skills.

For the most part, all of his mechanics can be dodged and it’s mostly scripted. Just practice.

Agreed with the solo route. I tried it as a duo and it was just easier to run it solo imo. Fire resist pots helped me. Don’t be afraid to run around, Elias hits hard if you’re on top of him during a big attack.

Another vote for do it solo.

The first time I tried this fight, I was with a group of higher level players, I was 60 at the time. We got steamrolled. I went back solo at 62 with basically the same gear and beat him first try. His scaling with groups is not linear, he was WAY easier by myself.

Use the size of the area to your advantage. Elias is slow, and unlike most of the bosses in the game doesn’t really try to close the distance. His most dangerous move, the one that covers the ground around him in circles that explode for heavy damage, is most easily avoided just by not being close to him. His second most dangerous move, where he shoots homing missiles at you, can also be avoided by running circles around the edge of the arena.

Basically just run laps, take shots at him when you’ve got an opening, and try to save whatever burst you have to delete the final 25% of his health because that’s when he’s really dangerous.

Ironbarb elixir and Reddamine Buzz incense seemed to do the trick for me as a level 70 pulverize druid without shockwave.

Took the circling at a distance advice and noticed the soulburners (succubi) seemed to be the only ones who dropped health potions.

Hope this helps and thanks to those who posted advice.
