Here’s a few tips for sorcerors, particularly up to Pit 100:
-
When running Pits, rush to find the 1st portal, don’t bother killing all enemies.
-
If you find that you’ve killed all enemies after the 1st portal and the Boss portal still didn’t show up, you can go back to the 1st portal and kill some there. The portal WILL spawn on Descent if Demise is clear.
-
You don’t have to fight all enemies in the pit. If you spot an Unstoppable enemy, just run or teleport away - their status will time out and you’ll kill them easily.
-
If you’re playing Ice Blades to reduce cooldown, you can move Ice Armour from Shimmering to Mystical
-
Once you have 95% uptime on Flame Shield, you might be able to drop lots of skills: Mana Shield, Align Elements, etc.
-
Rather than looking for a Chest piece with +4 Flame Shield, you might want to consider +3 Defensive instead, which then also applies to Teleport and Frost Nova. With good masterworking you can get +7 to all Defensive stats rather than +8 just to Flame Shield. You can get Immortal with this, and it’s far cheaper to get.
-
Attack Speed applies to your Conjurations too. This means that if using Ice Blades to lower cooldown, 15% Attack Speed may result in up to 15% faster cooldown. Note that effectiveness depends on monster density.
-
Most builds swear by Esu’s Heirloom boots. But don’t dismiss other boots. For instance, Flickerstep can help you spam Ultimates - it works well with Prime Unstable Currents, and can get you permanent +25% Attack Speed. Similarly, Yen’s Blessing can help you keep spells up most of the time (eg, Flameshield). These might not be suitable for endgame, but there’s fun to be had experimenting.
-
Even if you’re playing ice, Charged Glyph is your friend, and can offer a 15% multiplier, as long as you can generate Crackling energy (eg: Chain Lightning enchant, Mystical Teleport, etc).

There are ways to make that even with Esu Boots, dont spread misinformation please.
no explanation for non lightning builds here, you need to spawn Crackling energy and constantly pick up those, or the Multi doesnt work.
also promoting FS playstyle before its removed, kinda silly to do, and that doesnt help the class at all to find its place again.
IBs might be bugged after the 10th patch, tested it a bit, and it seems the cdr on other things but itself stopped nworking.
This isn’t intended as tips to reach meta.
Regarding Flickerstep, no misinformation here - it is worth playing with and helps early on if you want to focus on Ultimates, and can also help reach permashield early (even though S5 does away with that).
About the Charged Glyph, I trust people who look at it can make sense of what it says - there’s multiple ways to generate crackling.
Anyway, you clearly have experience, would be interested in what tips you’d share with people.
your post reads like, better not use esu, because, flicker is better. Which is very build dependant, and situational which is better.
And there are too much white knights here. Wudis disc is a better place for some discussions

Fair enough - edited my post above to address your feedback.
I’d rather not care about knights and trolls, new players are likely to land here. Hopefully someone will find the above helpful, and more people like yourself will bring advice of their own.
what a time waster post…
some people here are out of their minds.
sorcerer is a worthless and weak class… so do not hide that.
this is BARBARIAN 4, remember?
My Sorceror speedfarming* T101 with a non-meta build, disagrees.
Look, the whole class progression from start to endgame, is fun and easy as a Sorceror.
The 1% of people who care about Pit pushing, they are right though - Sorceror generally doesn’t cut it.
But it’s still a fun class to play, and challenging too. I personally appreciate the mental gymnastics that takes to use all 9 paragon boards.
So what that you need a masochistic streak to play Sorcerer post T120?
It absolutely shreds until then!
*PS: with speedfarming, I mean taking 5 minutes to reach the Boss. Because Sorcerors enjoy killing slowly and watching the landscape.

it shreds cause u can disregard defenses when u have the FS setup finished, this is not how this game is supposed to function. Devs are just bad at the game to let something like that into the game. It was reported in s4 ptr, and they still let it in, which is just hilarious that they now make it a big deal in s5 ptr. And still letting immortal barb or rogue work. Lets see if they make it into s5.
And yes sorc is a fun class for farming easy content, i agree. But it still lacks any depth, since our enchantment system is still a dumpsterfire class mechanic. Firebolt enchant mandatory to make the class even work in most builds, doesnt feel good at all. why do we have to sacrifice a slot just to make our builds work is just insane bad design.
Absolutely agree on both counts.
FS is cheesy and broken, and it’s sad that it’s essentially the only way to survive in high pits.
