I am play8ing my first serious Druid. Assuming that I reach level 100, I will run another Druid, hopefully correcting my mistakes.
I did not choose Lightning Damage as a skill, yet I constantly see equipment that utilizes Lightning. Do you recommend this skill?
Not liking any of the Core skills, I chose Tornado (which is useful when entering a room), but I still don’t like it. What do you folks recommend for your Core skill?
I avoided skills that switch between Werewolf and Werebear, yet I see equipment that adds bonuses when you switch. Do you folks avoid those skills or seek them out?
All intelligent answers appreciated.
Maybe go for Trampleslide? Using poison creeper and trample to cast landslides. Could always go Boulder eventually and/or just play a basic attack build using Greatstaff of Crone instead. Idk if you don’t like the Cores maybe Druid isn’t for you?

If you don’t want to switch between bear/human/wolf, you then have to decide which form you want to play in.
If it is bear, you can do a permabear pulverize build.
If it is wolf, you can do a stormclaw or shred build.
if it is human, there is a human lightning storm build.
The last two will utilize lightning damage, pulverize will not. That is the issue with itemization that is going to be addressed next season: just too many options.
I have run pulverize and stormclaw and I liked them both, but right now, I am really enjoying stormclaw with the cataclysm and hurricane skills. But that build requires the greatstaff of the crone, so if you do not have that unique item, you need to pick a different build. Pulverize is very easy to play and spec, that might be a great place to start.
Edit: The Shockwave Aspect will be the most difficult thing to find for the pulverize build, but once you have it, the build really shines.
Thank you both for your helpful answers. I THINK that my next Druid will go for the Werewolf instead of the Werebear; that will allow me to use the Lightning skills. I am enjoying the game and prefer to play the same character at least twice in a row, utilizing the equipment I saved, while using different builds.
