saw butcher once so far , that was when i was approx lvl 15 i died fast , havent seen him since to see if its doable at higger lvl as summoner
Killed him several times in nightmare dungeons, I just face tank him and the minions kill him faster than he can outdamage my potions.
If you need more time, just run in circle and dash before he swings on you. Stand still during blood mist so the minions can DPS. There’s no real secret to it.

the one time i saw him, he did the same to me, ignored all my pets and only chased me, i ended up getting him caught on a healing well with my pets having chased into just the right spots to keep him there, and well, he continued to ignore them till they finished murdering him.
They really need to do something about this, almost died multiple time to executioners jumping right at me and ignoring my pets, its hard to keep a don’t get hit for 3 secs buff up when stuff will ignore the minions and just stick to you.
Till they do, hey, you want to make things ignore my pets and only want to hit me, im happy to get them hung up on stuff, stuck, and watch as my pets do thier work and never get attacked

Yes I have in WT1 2X and WT3 once.
Believe it or not, he rarely attacks the pets. He likes to come for you. So they are free to destroy him while you kite him. My mages have 100% uptime on him.
I can often get 2 army of the dead casts out before he dies. I get low CD on it because of decrepify.

On WT1 just kite him in a circle around your pets. Let your pets do the damage. He drops from time to time some potions so you can replenish them. Use evade. And the fight will take some time. That’s the way i kill him.

killed him once in WT2 and a second time in WT3 just today. He is a pain if you aren’t tanky enough since he can combo away most of your health in a few hits. He basically never targets your minions, at least he never did mine except with aoe
Basically you got to keep kiting him around, you can try running circles or you can also dodge through him and kite back and forth. He only has a few different attacks and you can learn it pretty easily, expect the fight to take abit and hopefully you started with a full stack of potions.

and worst thing is he outrun your minion.
Iron maiden, bloodmist, iron golem, all minions and that legendary that gives minions 90% attack speed.
Had the Butcher two times so far. Just facetank him and my minions delete him. No biggie. Butcher is cookie cutter content with a minion Necro. 
The gist im getting from these posts is that you all are just incredibly tanky. He knocks me out in a few hits. So ill try kiting him or as one poster said getting him stuck on an obstacle.
The issue was i ran into him on a tier 7 sigil in wt3 and i think it was crusaders cathedral with nightmare portal affix, so the minions were mid fighting so i couldnt call them back to focus him.

Sounds like most people answering are basically saying “die until you are fully geared” or they are glitching him.
I ran into the butcher multiple times before I even had a rare.
Instant death.
You can’t kite him, he’s too fast. And he can pull you back.

Oh i noticed but i will say each time ive seen him ive understandbly freaked out. So at this point im willing to try anything.
I managed to kill butcher because he got magically surrounded by minions and could not target me, standing in place and turning. He was only player focused. Got stabbed to death by forks and spoons of my minions. Cruel death.

This MFer shows up only when I’m in hallways with no room to kite him around. You’re right: he absolutely ignores my minions… even when I’m using my golem’s active taunt. I don’t know what this jerk drops, but he’s spiteful enough I’m just waiting for him to show up for a boss fight.

I first encountered him today on WT3 at lvl 54 or so, just run around using evade, potions and mist, using some corpse explosion while the minions did the job.
Also tried to use a door to force him to engage the minions but didin’t work.
I use blight, and corpse explosion, so not pretty good on “pvp” (he doesn’t care about the minions at all), but with bone spear you can also deal some damage to him yourself.
PS: Technically I can also kill the Helltide Asassin, wich is lvl 70 something, he cannot kill me but my damage output to him would’ve meant that the fight would have last like 10 or 15 minutes, so I just teleported to town.
Got the Butcher first time at lv 52 on T3.
Did run circles, casting here and there, and let the minions do the job.
I saw him once in A3 level 39. It was tough but I just ran circles, healed my minions every 5 seconds or so, used decrepify for slow and damage reduction, and bone spear for damage. I killed him with the second cast of army of the dead. So it didn’t take too long. It was a close fight though.
