Thoughts, too many Waypoints?

People can just get around too fast which makes the world feel small. Along with that we can just zone back to any Waypoint at any time. There is no cool down. I love it but I think maybe there should have been 5 max and or there should have been some type of cool down on the portal.

Just my thoughts. I’m still enjoying the game.

Last thing you should not be able to change specs in a Dungeon without resetting it.

They would first have to fix the mount system before that can ever be a thing.

I believe this sums up mounts atm lol.

Or, you know, you can just choose to only use the waypoints that you think should exist. Why make the game even slower and more of a grind for everyone else?

Lol, too many waypoints? How about too few?

Yeah, I could use a few more.

World is mostly a waste because there is no draw to open world. Dungeons give best xp, glyph xp, still have gobs, butcher, ect. Helltides for some parts and mystery chests. PVP for elite spam. But rest of open world has nothing. No reason to ever be in it and farm it.

I do not think world has too many waypoints.

this thread is a waste.

the literal only reason to even go helltide is for seasonal quest and fiend roses

theres zero reason to do world bosses other than seasonal quests

there is zero reason to do legion events other than seasonal quests

theres zero reason to farm outdoor

Legion events are great xp, great chances for uniques, ghost mount, ect.

Helltide mystery chests take a couple of min for up to 5 legends and high value potions.

World Bosses have higher unique drop rates.

Other than this I agree there is no reason to farm outdoors.

the horse exists for a reason, use it if you don’t like the waypoints :3

Horsie got stuck on a pebble!

makes the traveling dynamically even slower, just what OP wants

Oh yes, totally kills the immersion. We should have to travel for hours to get to our destination.
Of course this could be very straining on our horse. We should be mindful of our animal friends. So after the horse has been carrying you for 45 minutes, it’s time for you to carry your horse for 45 minutes. It’s only fair.

This will help immensely with player retention too. I love this idea.

(Oh inbefore someone actually takes me serious on this… /s )

it is trash comparing to nmd, and mounts…i mean they dont even want you to go outside of nmd, when do you actually get to ride it? lol

by the time i am done with 250 shards i can blast thru 1 or 2 nmd already, which is guaranteed 1-2 legendary plus a lot of rares, usually you get more than the bare minimum too, i generally get around 1-4 legendaries each run.

lol no not really, maybe if you compare it to outdoor content sure, not nmd

You need to get movespeed on your boots and amu.

yes, that should increase my nmd blasting speed, now i can get 3 dungeons done before 250 shards!

More like too few waypoints.

And the world feels small because it is small, empty and pointless. There is absolutely nothing of value differentiating one area from another. Every area is just an empty pointless corridor with some mobs in it or an empty pointless field with some mobs in it. No one lives here, no one works here. Nothing happens anywhere. There is nothing to see or do anywhere. It is just a bunch of map textures with respawns on them. And killing the respawns accomplishes nothing because they are respawns.

It is the anti road trip. On a road trip you drive somewhere and then get out and do something. But there is nothing to do in D4.

You should pay attention that in general the waypoint concept in D4 differs from the previous games in the series.

Almost all waypoints in d4 are safe waypoints in cities or in the likeness of cities, you always have to spend time in order to start killing mobs.

It seems to me that this is the problem, there is no dynamics, this is most likely again done to artificially reduce the pace of the game.

Actually no i think they are i fact too less for some regions that are pretty empty. I have a druid (who as you know i a bit obese) and the little horse is not having a good time carrying me around. More waypoints the better!

I’m on the opposite end.

Would like to see another several Waypoints added.
