The concept of the season theme sounds fun actually. But I’m a bit disappointed, there’s no real depth and exciting changes coming to the classes… especially the sorc or spiritborn. I don’t know… I’m skeptical of investing and wasting another 300 hours of playing an underpowered sorc. Everything the Blizzard devs do contradicts what they tell fans. Will the sorc and spiritborn even be able to level their glyphs? Sad to see the game has been adjusted to harder difficulty to appease diablo youtube content creators and not the larger casual player base, the pit has become the focus again and made harder? It’s like they completely contradicting what they admitted last season. Thought they acknowledged their more for casual players. This is why the blizzard team confuses me. They’re so fickle and erratic…Meh. If they going to make the game like POE2? Whats to stop us from going to POE2, After all it is way more polished product. The casuals loved D4 because it was opposite of POE2. Now it’s falling in line with wishes of D4 streamers… Cheers. Not looking forward to another season where 3 classes rule and the remaining 3 underperform. Maybe it’s time to take a summer break away from the game. Don’t think I’ll be joining next season. Have fun though.
So characters using BOSS ATTACKS isn’t enough depth/exciting to you? Mmk…
1st of all, you don’t HAVE To.
2nd of all, based upon what the devs said the sorcerer was where all classes needed to be Anyway. So with that being said the sorcerer won’t be the weakest, it should be on par with every other class. (we should wait to see though).
For season 8 they haven’t even released it yet, how can you even say that?
I’ve read (on these forums) and on you tube saying how EASY Diablo 4 is. There is nothing wrong with a challenge.
Kwisatz, if this game is too hard for you, stay in a lower Difficulty setting. Boom, there ya go.
Did you play Season 8 yet? How do you even know… laughs …omg… I can’t…
I’ll see you season 8, if not, Well yeah Take a break. Maybe the game will cater to an easier difficulty …again.
Nah I don’t think so man. I’m keen on taking a summer break, I have job and a life. Looks like the game is being fine tuned for youtube streamers who play 24/7. I loved that D4 was meant for casual players. But now being fine tuned to get all their youtube content creators back to supporting them, free advertising I guess. Smart strategy, less smart when it comes to casual players. Have fun in season 8.
Unless they do something about the class being so dependent on stagger against bosses, it’ll still be amongst the weakest.
Maybe with the borrowed powers it may help.
But hey, Remember when they said sorcerer was the weakest and coudln’t do torment 4.
Well uhh yes it can. It’s a matter of finding what will work.
Seems like it’s a common theme. People complain and complain about the sorc being the weakest every season but eventually (before even the mid season patch) people HAVE played and Beaten all content in Torment 4 anyway ((With the Sorc)).
This has happened the last 2 seasons…maybe last 3 seasons??
I will, Thank you. Enjoy your break.
The part about the Sorcerer and to a lesser extent Spiritborn was a bit awkward. They said they knew both were a bit behind the other classes this season but were at a level they believe was the good spot for any class.
So, they decided not to give any subsequent boost to both Sorc and SB but for they are doing it for the others, already too strong per their standards? I didn’t quite understand their logic.
I think they meant that for Season 8.
Exactly why I’m saying… Blizzard devs promised to buff the underperforming classes in S7, but really only worked on buffing the overperforming classes and the uniques. Very contradictory statements. Hence why player trust in the devs is kinda distorted.
And after the borrowed powers go away?
Basing power on gimmicks or seasonal powers is garbage as eventually they are gone and we are able to see how weak these classes are.
Blizzards track record on balance is abysmal at best. So there is no expectation of them doing it right.
The generic term people can be misleading. Not that I disagree with your assertion just it would be an interesting stat to see for each class after a season.
So…you mean for Season 9? We don’t know if it’s gonna be borrowed powers or something else completely. I do believe nobody is thinking about Season 9 right about now.
This is part of the season, I don’t know what else you expect if borrowed powers is part of the seasons mechanic.
Unless your talking about eternal?
I don’t know, your confusing me.
Can you tell me what Season 9 is gonna be? In Season 8 the powers aren’t going away? ?
I think you’re missing my point. The D4 team mentioned that they’re catering for more casual players. S8 looks like a cookie cutter attempt to compete with POE2. So yeah I don’t get the D4 team, so fickle and erratic. If they going to make the D4 like POE2? Whats to stop us from going to POE2, After all it is way more polished product. The casuals loved D4 because it was opposite of POE2.
Seems like those “casuals” grow and experience better
This is no insult to you or the other casuals that liked the way the game worked in S7, I’m specifically criticising streamers here
They destroyed a perfectly designed incomplete game by turning it into D3 2.0 and now seem to be dialing that back
Does it matter what season if any? If balance is around a (for lack of better term) gimmick it’s not balanced at all. Eventually that gimmick will go away.
If class1 dominates everything in t4 without issue (with gimmick) and class2 has to have the gimmick to even get to t4. Then that disparity is very uneven.
And sure we don’t know what any season will bring in terms of these gimmicks but when you look at the changes they sure don’t seem good for certain classes.
IMO this is how arpgs are suppose to work. Sorc was doable if you learned how things worked. We shouldnt be aspiring for something like blood wave which only required slapping on some pants and some aspects for instant win.
Nothing.
Go and be happy. If you look at both I think you will see that d4 is still catering to casuals. All the content is there at whatever difficulty you select.
What going to be interesting is watching how it gets messed up. I have little faith in Blizzard in these types of changes.
Dark Humor. But i can relate to this
That’s untrue rogue is way more reliant on stagger
Let’s play Season 8. If anything at LEAST they are trying to make it harder. But Like I said chances are people will be able to play Torment 4 and it’ll be a walk in the park anyway.
Casuals can play a lesser difficulty. I mean I had a hard time getting into Torment 4 (I didn’t pick/play the best builds for it at the time) but I eventually Did, and I enjoyed that experience.
No one is stopping anyone to going to POE 2… and everything you said about POE 2 is an opinion I can’t not get behind.
Lessen the difficulty.
Just look at the boss powers. Very underwhelming. Most are just blah blah numbers with conditions. The same conditions they removed on bad affixes. TErrible. There is not much imagination here. The frost beam one is cool and the duriel bury is wtf weird and that is about it.
What are the chances this stuff is going to work right? 1%?
