So the video.
Seems like tier 1 is better which underminds any reason to go tier 2.
Maybe we should increase the rewards or at least add a higher gear drop chance?
idk just adding random ideas.
More importantly, what does everyone think about this topic/vid?

Nah game doesn’t need a higher drop rate. Maybe a bigger boost to xp

I agree with a boost to magic find. Without it, WT2 simply isn’t worth it for any reason except for personal pride.
That said, I’ll be playing WT2.

I would just make no leggos drop in WT1. To get leggo drops you have to play WT2. Just like you have to play WT3 to get sacred drops. No need to increase the drop rate. Just remove the drop from WT1. Wallah, gives WT2 meaning.

Well it is basically why does anyone play easy vs. hard mode in any game?
Basically pride.
However, yeah as we go to T3+ if it still works out this way, then I would argue we have a problem. At T1 vs. T2? Not sure it matters all that much. They will both become ghost towns quickly enough.
Incidentally though in D3
-
Normal: 100% Health, 100% Damage, 0% extra gold bonus, 0% extra XP bonus
-
Hard: 200% Health, 130% Damage, 75% extra gold bonus, 75% extra XP bonus
…
So at 2x hp, 1.3x dmg you still get less than double the xp in D3. It is more than 20% thoug in D4.
It is unclear what “enemies are more challenging” means exactly in D4, so for all we know it might still be in line?
I think the point of the video was that if the goal is to rush the campaign, do it in easy mode. Just like in WoW you don’t try to do raid achievements on mythic.
i see it as this perspective.
Whats the point of even having WT2 then if the majority 90 percen’t won’t be on it?
Right.
So might as well give better incentives.
Not everyone is playing to absolutely min/max everything and play the game in a way that requires the least amount of time as possible.
Some of us still like to take our time on the journey or want the added challenge… especially since each character has a definite end where they can’t progress any further.
multiple difficulties to choose from. pick whichever suits your wants. it says “Players who desire more challenge”, so why is this a matter of which is “better”? halo has different difficulties, yet doesn’t have incentives other than just beating the game on a higher difficulty. some games even give you LESS rewards on higher difficulties, making it more difficult to traverse through the game, like resident evil. it’s just a more challenging experience, regardless of efficiency. now if you want to talk about efficiency, then magic find + faster kills + easy route + etc., i would be able to see why “WT1 is better than WT2”. but in the end, you’re not forced to play one difficulty or the easiest difficulty or the hardest difficulty to progress, so play how you want.
