Thorns build - Druid?

Hello folks, has anyone had any luck building a thorns set up? I love the idea of being a druid, charging on in there BUT I want a large portion of my damage to come from Thorns.

Is this possible? I have always ignored Thorns because I thought it was a bit of a boring stat but in D3 and even here seeing some Barbarians using it, really got me interested.

If it possible does anyone have some info or a pointer to a site to help me learn how to build my own build? I would want to tweak it about a bit.

Druid isn’t the best option for thorns. You’d have to roll thorns on all your items and use the thorns unique and legendary powers. However druid lacks innate thorns on shields like necromancer and it also lacks the ability to gain thorns from the skill tree like barb and necro.

Though seriously, as Zolmation said, druid lacks any class based thorns stuff.

Barbs and Necro seems to be the thorns classes.

I seen this post while back and i got to thinking what if? Now hear me out before you stomp a mud hole with this. Thorns is basicly passive dps no active skill set right?
So druids do have some interesting ablity to do synergy with this. Compianons for one , cyclone armor passive. Several aspects and paragon boards points and gylphs. has anyone actually built out a passive dps druid?
I bet not.

Play it your way was a lie, stick to meta builds.

I mean yes and no there is about 3-4 different builds for every class you can play

i’d say the bare minimum is having a good or optimal razorplate saved from your previous chars ready to equip your thorns alt. the fact it can drop for any class and doesn’t have any stats but thorns (and sockets) on it, makes it also more likely and easier than gearing alts of potentially different class with main drops in other cases.

Random follow up, do you know if companions get a percentage of druid stats like thorns?

It’s downright criminal that druids, the class based on nature magic, don’t have inherent thorns abilities.

Interesting. Well, many years ago, in D3 the Crusader Thorns build was so much fun.
Thorns are secondary on that build now.
So a Thorns only build with any set is now just trash.

Good job keeping a 2 year old irrelevant thread alive :joy: the strongest build this season is built around thorns btw so pretty odd that’s considered trash by you.

The person necro’ing is probably is probably a bot. You’re right, they seem to be oblivious to SB thorns
