(to be clear, I’m not calling you a “no life” as an offense. But this is how people call dedicated players these days, so i’m going with it)
Ok, taking from the point that I believe that you are already on level 100 and doing Pits;
(because if I suck and I’m at this point already, you should be way ahead of me)
How you seeing the actual game loop?
Do you think it can keep you playing for the next month (at least)?
What are your plans in this season? And how far you are to get there?
Nope. I normally put 300+ hours into a season. Finishing the season journey then going to a different game.
Tempering is not for me so I will see if they change it next season.
the gameplay loop is DOOO DOOOO
why ? good luck getting 3 random proc on your masterworking stat you need
than you need to start from zero and spend humungus ammount of gold and mats
its trully a godawfull game if you really want to min max.
you cant even start crafting unless you hit the good item other wise its waste of resources
overall d4 kinda bad sad and boring tbh. i get my 100% journal done for hidden seasonal title and im outie
I’m fine with the RNG version of tempering, but I’d also be fine if they gave you two choices on the reroll, reroll stat or reroll category. this way you could just try to to roll a higher version of the one you need after you rerolled the category till you got it. I think removing one layer of the randomness would be an acceptable compromise. People would just have to live with the result and they still might not get the stat from the category they wanted. But if they did, they could then target the quantity. That’s as far as I’d be willing to go to appease the tempering haters, though.
No. Just like now. When i said reroll category I mean you didn’t get the stat you wanted from say mobility category. You rolled like profane mobility or whatever, then 10% movement speed. On reroll you could choose to either reroll profane mobility for a different stat in that SAME category or you could choose to reroll that 10% movement speed to get a higher percent. Names are made up cause game isn’t open and I’m not even trying to memorize all that stuff.
It basically lets you go after a different stat within the same subcategory or a higher version of the same stat you already received. But once you choose to reroll the stat you’re locked in to only rerolling that stat till you succeed or run out of tries.
This keeps one from trying to reroll %movement speed and ending up stuck with %movement speed after killing an elite, which you didn’t want. But there is no guarantee you will roll the movement speed stat in the first place.
86d single eternal sorc here…
First order of business…see how far I can take my meme, all-unique legacy build into the pit. That will force me to try many configurations until I learn the in-n-outs of the new mechanics. I hope to crack t100 with my meme build. Once that has been accomplished, I will be far enough into the pit to already have new replacements for my legacy uniques…INSTANT buff. Then we see how far that takes me. Last month of this season will be spent more in pvp…since a build that can push deep pits…should be pretty darn good and ready for pvp tweaking.
I also plan to incorporate more structured play schedules into my day-to-day…so that I can get back to whatever is outside my dungeon. Happy Sunday all.
especially if you see that masterwork mods are weighted and you always upgrade the same garbage. wont take too long till everyone is frustrated and stops trying.
Not at a 100 yet, 97, but my overall outlook on items has changed. Yes they were dumbed down, but I think this new system is better. Not because easier for all…but it gives more option to play your way at the lvl 75-80 mark. Where normally I would be bored and trying new things. But this time I switched my build to a theory that did not work or play well in the early game, but in the late game became very viable. The way items were in the past, this did not really impact this negatively or positively, but the current system really promotes it easily.
Tempering, Masterworking are fine in my book. Even with the unhappy state.
And yes I have bricked a lot of items.
The game loop, well now things drop in more than one spot. Like I got a Duriel mats from outside of the Varshan, Grigoire loop, it’s less frequent but happens.
Glyphs unfortunately are still in one place and if they weren’t not sure if anyone would do NMD’s over the pit or the Helltide event area. They do need to address Active Glyph autoleveling based on exp, and put something else in NMD to create a desire to play those.
Helltides being fun changed a lot. I know not fun for everyone but those people will adapt or move on. I still think there is a lot of Value to be had in the open world but it will require development from them.
Pit is ok, it is not bad, but not world changing.
Most importantly, the leveling process which we are being sped past, did not feel awful at any point, not because of speed, but because there was more items and item work to look forward to.
Wish it would stay that way. Minmaxing everything at the same time should be realistically impossible. Give players hard choices to make between different versions of “good enough”.
this depends on so many levels. i think currently the game is very fun, especially helltides. i have a necro and barb to 100 currently and a druid to 72. i plan on getting all 5 classes to 100 this season (again). dont know how long i will be playing this season because i dont know when i personally will run out of content. but i think the game in its current fashion should be able to keep a casual occupied for atleast a month.
I need one ring and pants to roll the stats i need and then the gear will be done for the most part. All items i have are tempered properly and i am working on MR with my wep and 2 other items at 8/12 the rest are 4/12 atm.
I do not foresee me playing much more than a couple of weeks. I have 1182 hours playing so far. Last season i did 6 characters to 100, but i cannot see me playing more than another week or so.
This game is getting super old and monotonous now that i have had a month break after i was done with last season.
For me….the replay value just isn’t there anymore. And by the time i want to pick it up again, the game will be changed so much, i wont wanna relearn to play again….that happened with D3 for me as well.
I wouldnt say i am a no lifer, but i did like to play this. Now it just seems like a farming chore to actually play.
