This is what leveling should have been at the start

Just sayin, dunno why it had to take until season 4 to make leveling fun and not tedious.

I personally believe it’s too quick. Helltides plays like a Dynasty Warriors game now. You can go to WT3 after 2 of them.

But that’s the direction chosen for the game right now, and I don’t see it returning. That genie is out of the bottle.

Less than 24 hours after the season start, we have players that are 100, or nearly so. I’ve got a friend that wants to play, she’ll be checking it out this weekend with me. I’ll let you know what she thinks, having never played previously.

I started the season off around maybe 6:00pm last night. Stopped playing around 9:00pm. My character was at level 41 in WT2. Mainly doing Hell Tides sometimes i forgot to pop an elixir for that boost and the ashes to further it. This was just me playing extremely casual plus with the slight lul when the tide was over.

I mean there are players right now at level 100. Thats literally less than a day. We all know now the game is designed for Level 100 and its content.

i agree, while i absolutely like the helltides, i personally think leveling is way too quick as well.

Now, i know many people asked for this, so i just accept it for what it is.

I am sure some people want to be level 100 with maxed out gear as soon as the press play for the first time.

well, i think i can live with the fast leveling as long as the endgame progression takes its time. so far it looks like thats the case with tempering and masterworking. ^^

Probably because they had been listening to boring people who like to do boring things pre 1.0. Many even stated (and still doing so) that leveling should be slow because its an “endgame” activity xD

Personally, I think the speed for leveling by the end of Season 3 was fine with Druid and Sorc and a smidge of Barb (only level 85).

However, I like to think they are also finally putting some solid focus into endgame by making the leveling process quicker. Right now my guy is level 49 in WT3 with around three hours of game time. I managed the first capstone at level 41. I have t bothered a whole lot with tempering as it doesn’t seem to have a point just yet. I just put in what makes sense. Loving the new loot system, tho.

Anyway, I like it and feel a little disappointed by the new leveling speed. I don’t feel like anything was taken away from me, tho. If that makes sense.

I only played for a few hours yesterday and like 2 this morning before I had to do stuff, and I am lvl 46 I think. Mostly just doing the event part of Helltides.

Gaining character levels is a part of rpg’s and its over too fast.

I was 50 in a few hours and was able to breeze through both Capstone dungeons. First at 30, second at 50.

The content becomes so trivial that it begs the question: why make players level at all?

Honestly streamers will hit 100 in a day regardless, why make general players suffer. I got to WT4 before logging off and that’s what matters, all gear before that is useless. Plan to work on glyphs but need to figure out how to hit good whispers for gold. Gold feels real bad this season without season zones with nice whispers.

not only 100 but ranked 2nd in gauntlet with a full summoner build. no offensive spell except for army of the dead. its hilarious

Exping curve should be fast early on and slower later on and last 10 lvl should be really hard. + Exp lost on dead ofc.

  • spend ages on low lvl when you can´t drop anything usefull is just chore bcs everything except lvl is worthless.

  • be max lvl instantly come with lost of good feel from accomplishment

  • Dead penalty limit glass cannon builds.

I am not sure why D4 doesn´t follow this formula.

I don’t understand why people want it to slow down. As a casual player with not a lot of time you’re telling me I should get less done and like it that way? I just don’t get it why would I ever want to do less in the same amount of time. I want to maximize my few hours a week and believe it or not it will keep me playing longer because I will feel less harsh grind.

That said, the new changes are great. Brisk leveling pace, better itemization and a summoner that actually works. I haven’t played more than 2 hours in the past year I’m glad that the game finally feels worth the money.

The reason many think the leveling is too fast is because Diablo , originally, wasnt supposee to be like WOW, where everyone rushed to endgame because thats where the real game is .DIABLO was always more about enjoying the journey rather than the endgame. The journey WAS the game, not the destination. Too many mmo players have been conditioned to think all games should be a rush to the end, which defeats the entire purpose of leveling. Its getting to a point that some of us are asking why even bother with leveling?

That’s my point - circular reasoning. It’s “useless” because leveling is so quick. You use the gear just a few minutes before graduating to the next step up.

I mean why would you want to invest into gear that isn’t ancestral regardless? Like even if you delayed leveling, keeping me in the lower tier for longer, I’d still view it as useless. Costs are too high to upgrade and make builds sub WT4. Remove those costs or lower gold requirements to roll gear and maybe it’s a different story.

Leveling is super fast now, the game is going the way of WoW in this regard… where the focus is on the end game and making it faster for alt’s. Which I guess is fine. The game has been out for a year and leveling from scratch isn’t the most enjoyable experience, especially when it’s a seasonal game. And it’s an ARPG.

People want it to slow down because it makes gearing and choices during leveling pointless. Congrats, you’ve now eliminated any gameplay that isn’t “endgame”.

As for “doing less” - you’re playing a game. The definition is literally “doing less”.

As for “grind”, it’s an ARPG. You’ll probably also complain that end-game chase items are out of your reach as well.
