Haven’t played a few seasons and this game is overwhelming.
So much to do now that it is really complicated to follow. My brain is still burning from all the reading of what to do next.
I eventually alt f4’d because of the anxiety and feeling of overwhelmingness.
I haven’t played since Duriel was released and now they added so many huge bosses, helltides, hordes, I don’t even know how to open a horde. The new dungeon in Carrigoar is massive with the portal stone and the levels.
What I would do is ask yourself what you want to do.
Once you figure that out then you do activities that help with That specific goal. You’ll have to do other things to reach it (mostly grind I’m sure).
Of course if you need help In game or out, feel free to ask the people here who can answer any question you have.
Please ignore those who hate the game (but still play it) and or attack people who play/like the game.
They have nothing else better to do then to make other people on the forums time awful.
I just follow the season objectives and it guides pretty well. Im p180 and still dont have it all figured out. Blast and learn IMO. Best of luck, hope you give it another shot.
PS. just click the horde key then hit tab (pc player here) then the sigil is on the map.
This game went from very fun to boring rocket science in a year.
Hope they go back to their roots and make it a bit simpler. This isn’t and was never designed to be a PoE rip off. It should be understandable within 2-3 hours and I shouldn’t require a degree in any subject to understand this game.
This game is only playable if you commit 6-10 hours of reading guides.
The only guides I follow is build guids, everything else is Pretty much the same.
Now… who’s fault is it for skipping 2 seasons? The game shouldn’t (no game) cater to anybody if they happen to skip a couple of seasons to make it easier for them.
Maybe should play Eternal realm and get used to everything there before jumping to the Seasonal realm??
There’s a subsection of a subsection of YouTube dedicated entirely to giving you a walkthrough of what you might want to do & how & when, if you’ve been away for a while. This is the new American century. No reading necessary.
Hahahahaha SURELY you are trolling? this is the first season that isn’t a coloured helltide
They just shuffle things around and call them changes there is nothing complex in D4
id agree, hence why people are complaining about “invulnerabilities” on bosses, when the sad truth is that they are just dying because they refuse to “not stand in fire”
lol. Ok, sure, emm, just do one thing at a time, no need to do everything just play the game and it will come you naturally over time.
Once you figure it out (after 4-5 days of playing) you will find out that the game is pretty shallow as it is and we need more game loops added to keep it from being boring.
Anyway, the best place for information is here https://maxroll.gg/d4 and then click on the “Resources” drop down and find out exactly what you need easily and quickly.
Also, the game has excellent tool tips these days, just hover over something and it will tell you everything, they even added in-game guides as well I think accessed through the options menu.
Seasons don’t change much, core gameplay is the same, so no real complexity added. Heck, this seasons new thing is a glorified legion event. And boss powers make early game a breeze, you can literally play the game with one skill to 60.
I think there’s too much crap on the map. I honestly would love it if they just got rid of helltides and just kept seasonal highlighted map areas like that. Nightmare dungeons are dumb too. As is having so many endgame activities…Just get one right first please: an infinite roguelike dungeon filled with cool loot and a random boss on every floor.
There are too many clocks as well. Everything is on a timer. Just let us play and do whatever activity we want to do (world bosses, etc.) whenever we want to do it.
I didn’t play at all last season, but I’ve played every previous one. I’ve just reinstalled the game and will see how I feel about it all after a few hours.
Playing in Eternal Realm or doing the campaign over might be a good way to ease back into things, too.
A lot of the problems (maybe all of them?) Diablo 4 has could be fixed if they’d consent to an offline mode…
It’s not very mechanically complicated at all. It’s that D4 bombards you with a lot of visual information, timers, things on the map, all the aspects, activities, etc.
It’s not like playing Diablo 2, or Titan Quest, or Grim Dawn. It’s a very different ARPG, and way too focused on “end game activities”, “seasonal content”, a cash shop, forced online…
OP is a white knight for a streamer yet his brain is burning from all the reading. IH was introduced in S5 yet he has no idea how to open one. The New dungeon in Cerrigar, I am thinking he is talking about The Pit, which was introduced in S4.
