This game is not D2. It’s vampire survivors

Season 10 was vastly better than 11 because it dropped the pretense of there being any challenge and just let players break the game, like vampire survivors.

The devs seem to think the game is improved if you are constantly crowd controlled but there aren’t many opportunities for counter play, even if you could see what’s going on. Visual clarity has never been worse.

Stop trying to inject challenge into the game, it makes the game worse. Just let us blast monsters and get overpowered upgrades (eg chaos armor).

I disagree I think they need to refine perhaps the new stuff they added, but also add in even more challenge! Make it so we cry!

lol. sorry, some people like challenges. That being said there still are hardly any.

I thought d2 elitists claimed their game being the most challenging most hardcore arpg ever existed, now the challenge is an issue? boo hoo?

I kinda agree that it is Vampire Survivors.

But it very much should not be.
S11 seems like a tiny step in the right direction.

Disagree! You’re free to lower difficulty!

Any 3rd grader can design a “challenging” game. Just crank up the damage and there you go! It’s hard now. But it’s not fun.

True. So many games fail at designing challenge well.
D4 should take some serious lessons from Souls games. They managed it.

Basically nothing should ever oneshot. But also make healing hard to come by, death should come creeping in at you.

yeah they tried that already and we rejected it, so now they are taking another pass at it. Still a long way to go till it is anywhere near as good of a game for me as D2 but S11 is the best yet. If they actually follow through with the things they said S11 will enable, then the best is yet to come

Also as pointed out… you are free to stay in lower tiers if it suits you. I know i go down a tier for certain activities or when im in the mood for mindless blasting. Cant wait for higher tiers and new higher challenges in the future !

If you do you can’t complete the season journey, and the game becomes boring because it takes so much longer to get upgrades due to lower drop rates. Not a solution.

if you can’t complete the season journey… get good. also D3 is still available

Can’t get gud if you can’t see what’s going on. Have you played infernal hordes this season?

Some of the new mob affixes need some refinement but overall it’s a good change. No more face tanking is a step in the right direction. I’m sure even the pally won’t be able to face tank inna season or two. Then the tears will really start.

Is this new season supposed to be hard?

I’m having no problems at all.

Let me guess. Paladin?

To be fair, no Diablo game has been as challenging as any souls game, nor will it ever be. Even with D1 you could just become OP eventually. D2 was even easier than D1, and D3 and 4 followed suit in terms of ease. If anything the Diablo franchise has been getting easier and easier.

It’s funny too because PoE 2 is following suit as well. It’s definitely easier than PoE 1, and they’ve continued to refine it that way with each patch. Does it have challenging elements to it? Sure, but I’d say in general PoE 2 is going along the same path.

If you want a challenging ARPG in that sense, I think No Rest For The Wicked would be right up your ally. Waiting for D4 to become something it will never be is just a fruitless endeavor though.

Juggling between paladin and rogue.

Not really noticing anything substantive insofar as difficulty.

Game should be harder, in my opinion.

I’d wouldn’t say hard. But it can be frustrating when the bombs cover the entire floor for 2 screens and there is no way to dodge them. At that point it’s not a skill issue just bad luck. I’d rather the luck factor be removed and put it down to skill on avoiding the mechanics.

yeah what about it? i dont have an issue with it

Season journey is not suppose to be a participation trophy. We are talking at best one or two tiers at the end that are challenging. The rest is a walk in the park if you have any experience at all in this game.

Also, D2 wasn’t challenging. It was just tedious and boring.
