Things you miss from D3 (or other ARPGs)

Which things you wish Blizzard had added to the game already that were on D3 or other ARPGs?

My check list:

  • Sets for all classes
  • Loot filter
  • Kanai or Horadric Cube
  • Belts, bracers and pauldrons
  • Identify items
  • Legendary gems
  • Legendary potions
  • Equip items to your followers for extra passives

At least we got the armory. Do you think any of these will be added in the future?

  • Sets for all classes
I hope not. i think that really hurt the game. the entire game seemed to revolve around them
  • Loot filter
    Sure. options never hurt
  • Kanai or Horadric Cube
    i never cared for it
  • Belts, bracers and pauldrons
Don’t really think it would add anything
  • Identify items
Don’t think it really adds anything
  • Legendary gems
they’ve already played with this so i wouldn’t be surprised if they add it
  • Legendary potions
I think possibly. though they have a lot of potions already
  • Equip items to your followers for extra passives
That would be cool but i would doubt it.

Two things that I miss, that I’ll never get back.

  1. being able to play alone
  2. Not having to deal with a skill tree and instead having a much more (to me) interesting system where every skill had a point and could fit into multiple different builds because it allowed you to swap their elements and effects.

I know I’m like… alone in this, but I find skill trees to all be a lie. It’s the Illusion of choice, even back in D2. You wanted that build? Take that skill, that’s… really all ya need. And also waste points in skills you don’t want to get there.

I honestly feel like D3 had more interesting build diversity with it’s system than D4 or D2 does and I loved it. Was also really easy to shift around.

I don’t want sets, identifying items, or the added armor pieces as I feel it wouldn’t add anything but more bloat to our already bloated loot table. Identifying items in particular always seemed strange to me to begin with. Why make us go through an extra step to figure out what we have? This isn’t Pokémon cards.

Legendary gems we have with the new season, we also had it in S1. They also gave us glyphs and VoH gave us Runes, so there’d be no real point to them in this sense.

Loot filter is only really needed for the mid-game and less so for the late game. Sure it’d be nice to have, but it’s not necessary like in other games where there’s 50+ pieces of loot that drop per boss.

Not sure what the cube would help us do at the moment. We have the codex, we can temper and masterwork our gear, the cube would just seem pointless other than to add another way to get random items by throwing crap into it. If you mean from D3, which added powers from items, I don’t think it’s needed here.

Legendary potions we have elixirs, although I know what you’re getting at. Wouldn’t be against the idea, but again don’t feel it’s needed.

What I would like to see is better bosses with mechanics to match.

In-depth endgame with a variety of options. Not necessarily more endgame content, as I feel we have enough, but finer tuned and expanded upon.

Consolidation of materials and cleaning up of the inventory in general. Too many chuck-e-cheese tokens.

I agree 100%. D3 had a much more robust skill system where every choice mattered; and being able to change skills to tweak them for performance/play style or elemental synergy was great. Sure, there were imbalances, but overall it was great.

I’m not saying there’s no such thing as a good skill tree that provides both agency and diversity, but Blizzard certainly can’t make one, and we have decades of proof to that point.

I have never understood the desire for Sets, or Identifying items…

Sets basically make it so you are REALLY railroaded into a build. It is basically forcing a Meta.

And Identifying items is SUCH a waste of time. There is no excitement in it, there is no joy, just a chore. Besides, we already do this. It’s “A Helm” on the ground. We pick it up to see what it is.

I miss weapon variations. Short bow, long bow, battle bow. Oh and of course a unique crossbow. -I miss that skills cause any type of damage, like in d2 you put on a jewel and it caused fire and ice damage. And in d3 the skills had different types of damage.

it really does limit builds in a frustrating way when If I want to make an Ice build, there are only so many Ice skills a Sorc has that I can work with. While in D3… lord I could make almost any skill Ice based if I wanted to. Just so many fun options!

Global chat would be nice. D4 feels like a solo game without a pause option.

greater rift leaderboard and builds that don’t do quintillions of damage (1 shotting everything)

I only miss playing alone offline.

My check list:

  • DS style mount, with stash included
  • DS spell book
  • DS “tetris” stash
  • D2LoD Belt
  • D2LoD scrolls books
  • D2LoD tree style
  • D2LoD hidden secret passages
  • DS solo “mercenaries” party style
  • D2LoD fast switching armory sets

And probably a lot more to come…

The ability to play offline and pause the game. I would play this game more if I could pause it in the middle of anything like in D3.

Yeah nah D3 can F off, sets were trash for the most part l, item identification is a waste of time, d4 also has bracers/gloves tf?, follower gear would be nice but Blizz is dead so yeah… careful what you wish for!

Challenge, immersion, meaningful progression, itemisation.

aRPGs have their roots in the RPG genre, D4 has lost that entirely.

Sets for all classes :rage:
No, just no.

Loot filter
Meh. I would like to instantly salvage non-GA Legendaries as a toggle.

Kanai or Horadric Cube :rage:
We have Aspects. A vastly superior system.

Belts, bracers and pauldrons :rage:
No real need, but I could see a class like Sorceror getting a special Bracer Slot. They need it!

Identify items :rage:
Gods no!

Legendary gems :white_check_mark:
We have those in S7. Go craft them! I would like to see tgem as a permanent addition.

Legendary potions
No need. I don’t want to have to farm potions in this game.

Equip items to your followers for extra passives :rage:
Followers have 2, and 3 Actives already.

Loot filter was a community bandaid to fix lazy, inept devs not fixing their own game’s loot.

Pass.

I miss my demon Hunter class multi shot build with unhallowed essence

True! 20 characters and all that jazz

Wouldnt mind some challenging content and a vibrant endgame (neither can be found in d3), and surely dont miss the massively stupid powercreep of d3
