The Setting I love the dark tone of the game. It feels like there is actually despair in the way the npcs talk and feels like the whole world is going to hell. Death everywhere you look. Betrayal and deceit in peoples actions. A world devoid of joy as i would expect it to be with demons roaming the lands. The artwork is creepy and well done to set the mood. The music suits the tone incredibly well. There was a few times id stop to do something and just listen to the music. .

Combat I played mostly as the Barbarian and I found the combat to be challenging at first. I quickly learned the to survive I was going to have to watch for the enemies using their stun moves and time my dodge to avoid disaster. As i progressed and got better gear and optimized my skill tree the combat definitely got easier but it never felt too easy due to the enemies scaling with your level. Although a lot of people dislike the scaling of levels with the character I personally enjoy it. The main complaint I find is that you dont feel stronger as you level because you cant run through all the old enemies like a freight train but I like how it makes me take things a bit slower and not rush. Im sure when you get good gear and your paragon levels easy screen wipes will be possible anyways.

Item Tinkering
I like how they let you take a legendary aspect off an item and put it on another even if you can only put that aspect on one item and cant be removed again. Gives weight to your decision on what to use it on. Also weighing your decision to save up gold to upgrade a rare item and putting sockets/rerolling a stat before turning it into a legendary or using the gear right away adds a nice layer of strategy considering early in the game gold is a valuable resource you dont want to waste. Things become incredibly more expensive to upgrade and use rarer resources when working with legendaries. I spent a few hours in the beta tinkering. Although i do wish you could reroll more than one stat per item i understand the need to limit it for balancing. -
World Bosses I fought Ashava twice and i had my concerns going into it the first time that it was going to be an easy gear grind. Well im happy to say i was wrong. It was a challenge to get it down in the 15 minute timer especially because people didnt know the mechanics yet. It was basically a one shot death if you were not paying attention and dodging at the right time. Even though you respawn closeby its still tough to take down in the time given and you do take durability damage so die enough times and you are crippled. The second time the group failed. Partly due to low levels taking part so that hindered dps and partly due to not having the 12 max people. Would be nice if there was a way to mitigate this but it might not be so bad when you get higher levels in the mix. Overall very happy with the experience and im curious to see what other boss mechanics they can come up with. Love to see raid dungeons with similar mechanics and beefy bosses down the line but who knows maybe the nightmare dungeons will scratch that itch
Please… for the good of us all… insert paragraph breaks. I think there’s probably some good stuff in this, but that gigantic block of text is really challenging…
I tried im sorry lol im on mobile and it didnt keep any of my spacing. I had double lines of blank text for sections
Your bit about scaling is exemplary. I also love the scaling. I hope they don’t back down on this just because people want to roll their faces on their keyboards and get new gear lol.
I’ve also seen posts about the combat feeling slower and worse than D3. And all i can think is, “You mean nominally smarter?” Actually having to watch where you’re standing, be methodical and purposeful with what skills you’re using and when?
Not just standing in fire with Life Per Hit and smacking them till they die? Lol. Or doing so much damage that you look at them and they instantly die?
This combat is so much more fun than D3 to me.
