They dont get it

I dont think Blizzard really knows what makes an arpg fun. They take 2 steps foward and 4 steps back. Just when i start to think they understand they make everything a sloggy mess. The game is SO grindy at this point with tasks taking alot of time for little reward. Disappointing at this point imho. Hope it can be fixed.

Regardless of what kind of flaggish folks who try to censor you or troll squad …trolling and shilling - it’s not just YOU.

No
Body
Asked for all this.
The direction the game has gone? Pure mystery where the ‘popular opinion’ and sources of ‘demand’, consensus, push & press etc.
It’s purely from the void because you won’t find players/human voices, en masse, asking for a fraction of the direction they went in.
Granted - HQ and their …“Interpretation of Game direction based on expressed feedback” - I think AI would have done a better job at summarizing 1.5 years of feedback and direction Players might want to see the game go.

What they did?
They seriously need some glasses or something.
Again: (barring “VoH” which is w/e sauce) - S6 is NOT what the Community, large and small, asked for - Anywhere.

it seems less grindy then ever. Leveling is as fast as it’s ever been. many ways to target uniques. even ubers are easier to get. account wide paragon makes playing alts even easier. What am i missing?

I don’t find anything sloggy. Progression is too fast if anything, but I can accept it as it is.
I might ask the same question: do you know what makes ARPG fun? One man’s fun is another man’s chore.

Players are like kids mostly (me too btw).
There is nothing bad about fruit or vegetable. And kids will like it and it is healthy

But if you would give just sweets to them and all of sudden you took it and start with fruits and vegi they will be upset.

Same here. If you all of sudden tell players "Hey guys now you need to invest XYx more time to get much less and worst loot… Well surprise surprise, they are not happy.

There are plenty of posts where people asked for infinite progression.

The length was never the problem, it’s the reward-centric cycle that destroys the enjoyment

That’s what you get when you have people designing everything (literally every single thing) about some kind of a reward in a game, there’s no twists, turns, surprises, nothing, it’s all about the what I call bet-cardio-lever cycle

  • Place a bet (go to an NPC or Obelisk whatever, and bet or start)
  • Do the cardio = Play your gameplay cycle
  • Pull the lever = RNG the reward at the very end after completion

Rince & repeat a few dozen hundred times, you’ll get there  :stuck_out_tongue:

Had they had a clue of how to make unexpected turns or events, surprises - no-one would’ve felt exhausted, but that’s Mr. Rob for you - “Diablo is a game about loot” genius in action right there

There are no surprises, there are no “wtf was that” at all in the game (except when getting one-shot due to overestimating your character’s defensive power)

Frankly if they dropped that stupid reward-first and reward-centric limitation even for a day the game would’ve been 15 times better, but it’s not

They think that predictability and controlled repeatance (controlled means always open always available via an NPC or a currency) of the same thing over and over is some kind of a reliable i.e. high quality thing

Blizzard is the mirror or gamers community. They just do games according to the needs of these people: Barbie looking game, no gothic feeling, no dark story, incredible bad looking skins…this game really shift to direction of children Tamagotchi game

Feels like the fastest and easiest arpg is too hard and grindy for the avg Joes lmao

You missed the perfect Pointe i think.
Cause veggies and fruits are also healthy.

That ist the perfect example what Bad Idea the 40 XP buff was.

People complain about the Grund to 100.

That was a Problem of Bad gameplay between 1 to 100. Instead of fixing that they buffed XP so everyone can skip the Bad Part FĂźrther.

Terrible Idea If you wanna keep people for Long periods of time.

Now they Made the Road to the end longer again and everyone Freaks Out.

What are you even talking about? Progression is still way too fast and too easy.

i think not doing anything and eating cheetos is more stimulating and rewarding than playing this game and i’m really not trying to be that negative guy but holy f, its season 6 and i still don’t understand this game at all

you kill monsters, ok ya, and?

“and thats the game”

cool… i don’t get it, every monster feels like a ant i can crush with oxygen, what the hell am i doing with my life

Well my point was If you don´t give player something they are ok with that but if you gave them and took it back, they will rage. It is tempering all over again.

If at average exp to 100 (60 whatever current overhaul they made) took 50H and they change it to 25 people would be happy. If it woud be 10 hours and they increase it to 25 they would rage.

It is just elementary psychology and Blizzard failed there once again.

It may be different for every player but no matter how good the exping/story part is… I don´t want to play it more than once and if I have to I want to end it soon as possible.

Till I have chance to drop top lvl items I don´t care at all.

It can be fun with different class maybe. But knowledge I don´t have a chance to drop item I would use in endgame it is waste of time for me.

This was and even if it is slower what D4 and even D3 did much better than other titles.
You can at least exp in endgame activities. PoE, LE etc all of them still forcing you to repeat story. I quit PoE just bcs of that…

poe gets so much praise on twitch but literally no where else does that praise exist, it has to be paid shills.

redoing the acts every new character and playing faceroll piano keyboard on the potions is sub zero iq gameplay.

but that doesn’t mean this game is any better.

i think im done with this genre. this expansion might of sealed the deal.

where is the slog exactly? i mean, except for less legendaries diablo 4 cant get any faster without becoming d3. i mean, id love to see what you complain about, but your thread doesnt have a coherent point.

cute. stuff only gets flagged if the community thinks its against the CoC.

I dont know about the gring because i never do it (hard drop the game after the battle pass)…

But if they turned up the grind they want user metrics up for the expansion.

Peoples bonuses probably depend on it.

I still think PoE is by far best aRPG on market even if it is dated as hell. But I am just not willing to spend just a few hours to reach maps. Just no!

Btw at least with sorc is also piano hell here.

it might be in your universe. tastes differ after all. i dont like poe one little bit personally (does it make it the worst arpg on the market?). eventually poe2 might be fun, but that has to be seen.

You aren’t missing anything, the OP is apparently missing something. The game is indeed faster and more rewarding than ever. Maybe some people think if they keep complaining about things eventually they will get everything for free, but then there wont be a “game” left.

explain to me what “game” this is then, because i just breathe oxygen and everything dies, and if you’re a bot you’ll say “raise difficulty” ya i did that, i geared up, and rinse and repeat

so now what, what am i doing with my life, is there a point to this?

“fun”

ya ok i’m done. definitely not for me.
