These forums are out of control

I actually agree with Singularity, these forums need some kind of moderation A.S.A.P. Look, I’m one of the most prolific detractors of the game here and this is where I draw the line. I’m all for criticizing design decisions or even grilling the lead developers for not playing their own game. But these last couple of days a line has been crossed and valid criticism has devolved into blatant, personal attacks on the developers.

I hope that I don’t need to remind you that these are actual living, breathing human beings that also come onto these forums to see the feedback for the game that they helped create. How do you think they feel when all they see are threads upon threads of absolute vile, toxic vitriol being spewed at their persons? Not their competence as game designers, mind you. Nope, this “criticism” is directed at appearance, gender and relationships. It all started 2 weeks ago when people took Joe Shely’s quote out of context and started grilling him, and now it has come to shameless ultra right-wing reactionary talking points.

Please take a breather next time you think about levying a personal attack on someone and think about how it would make you feel and you received this kind of “feedback” about your professional performance.

Yes, indeed, the toxic positivity is completely uncalled for.
You make excuses for a bad game, you get a bad game.

So your position is to blanket the entire forum with what you put, “vile, toxic, vitriol”? Interesting how you feign empathy and care, but then attack in the same message.

They can dish it out but I bet if roles were reversed they cannot take it.

That’s called Censorship.
You don’t decide what is good or bad. You are nothing.

A game this bad deserves all the shi* thrown at it, only way that the makers will take notice, as they do not play the game themselfs.

I’m so chill right now that I don’t give a crap what people are posting.

Some of the recent threads are pretty bad. Criticism is fine. Even anger and disgust at the state of the game is fine, but now there’s just a bunch of threads ranting about diversity and “woke” and the people making them have no idea what they’re even talking about.

The guy most responsible from the actual dev team was probably McCree who was a terrible leader and it’s been talked about in articles, but none of the right-wing crazies like to criticize him because it doesn’t fit into their blame all the minorities for all the world’s problems narative.

If they don’t want criticism then don’t put people playing the game that clearly have no idea what they are doing on a video for the public to view and comment on. The gameplay they showed was abysmal. Watching someone mash one button over and over was an embarrassment when compared to streamers doing NM 100 runs on HC, and they can’t even do WT1 at level 50 without dying.

It’s pretty sad how all forums have gotten. It seems you can’t have opinions both good and bad without getting attacked. You have to either love or hate the game.

It’s pretty ridiculous around here. Not sure it’s a troll problem, intelligence problem, or just the state of the world in general.

That was your first mistake.

Actually, wait, READING anything Singularibot posts is your first mistake.

Agreeing with it, all things considered, is rather secondary.

Yup. I agree. While I absolutely loathe the current status of this game personal attacks are definitely crossing the line. Some people need to check themselves.

These forums are constantly moderated. You don’t have to worry.
They are less successful at game monitoring.

Feedback has always been an important part of this community. It prevents a mass exodus of players leaving the game because of bad design choices or outdated models. This community gives Blizzard a window to fix things before they’re released. You can’t post here unless you’ve spent the $70 to $100 for the game so every opinion is valuable whether you like it or not. Blizzard doesn’t need you to bat for them they’re already spending more than their development budget to drown out any end game criticism.

My opinion is that watermelons were too expensive last July.

At least you knew what you were getting for your money.

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE

Seriously though, you’re not wrong.

Yeah, I don’t agree with people bashing someone based on their appearance or political orientation, but seriously, the video they posted was supposed to connect with the audience. They showcased a dev mashing lunging strike over and over and completely ignoring their CORE ability ‘HotA’. Like you literally have NO idea how to play the game, WHAT ARE YOU DEMONSTRATING? That you don’t actually play the game? That you’re out of touch with your audience? That much is CLEAR.

This is just sharpening the focus on the myriad of bad design decisions and the unanimous disappointment of their most dedicated fans. Like who are these people? They don’t seem to be fans like we are… Why are they the ones to handle our beloved IP we grew up with??? :frowning:

No… but the devs do play the game… didn’t you see the video?

I was actually impressed that they managed to die at level 50 in WT1.

If those characteristics are what I made primary focus/image… I would expect that kind of feedback.

For the record, I do focus my criticism on the dev incompetency because that’s what matters to me… but i’m not everyone and the world is diverse.
