I reached level 30 of the pit and noticed that the damage was clearly not enough. I decided to check why and found out that on a weapon 2 damage enhancements in a cumulative amount of +100% (there is no difference + or *) do not affect any change in damage except in the display of strength. Replacing them with similar items without this parameter has no effect at all on the change in damage from skills (which should definitely happen).
I also noticed that critical damage also does not affect the damage in any way. That is, the damage is also marked as critical, but has the value of the base damage of the skill. Let’s say ball lightning has damage of 8000-10000. When changing items, the damage only changes taking into account the lightning damage, and it only changes by the value of 1 thousand, which means that the general damage increase simply does not work. I deal this damage, but it has a critical display, leaving the base damage values. Same thing with the thunder whip.
I’m interested in how this happens, although now I understand why the increase in strength is not visible. Stop deliberately limiting player progress.
Did you only look at the tooltip or actually tested it on the dummy or real enemy?
Tip: Dont trust the tooltip.
I tested this on enemies from pit level 101 to 126. the damage is no different and is always the same as the damage displayed by the skill. This is clearly not a mob damage resistance issue.
I also changed the equipment and found out that the damage column on the character page changes taking into account critical damage, but critical damage itself slightly increases the attack base. Although critical damage should increase the damage by at least 3 times. I only attack with critical damage.
The damage increase has no effect at all, although it should have doubled the damage.
It looks like Blizzard doesn’t know how to either joke or work.
Are you telling me you run Pit Tier 126? If so, kudos to you!
Crit shouldnt increase the base attack, only crits, and its not 3x damage for Crits…
I recommend checking out this video:

And also reading this:

No. While there is not enough time to complete 30, if the damage is not corrected, it will not be easy, but it is possible. But again, there is clearly not enough time. I fell into an artificial blockage.
The lack of damage makes it impossible to go higher.
I don’t have white damage, but the yellow value matches the base. Sometimes blue or orange only pops up, but it is 2-2.5 times larger.
Someone made a big mess with the code.
Friend. I do not need it. I know how to troubleshoot, and I say that it is faulty. These sources from streamers who support Blizzard.
We’ve had this kind of #@* since the first season, Blizzard just doesn’t want us to play the way we want. This game is not worth the money.
Well if you cant complete a Pit tier 30 you are not building correct and clearly dont understand how damage calculations work…
This indicates that you are the only player out there that has this “wrong coding” of damage since no one else have this problem.
You clearly dont, since you dont even know how the damage calculations work in the first place. Again, i recommend watching them for a better understand of what you are talking about since its obvious that you dont know (even if you think you do) Not being rude, just honest.
For context, highest Pit clear without Holy Bolt is Pit Tier 141.
For other context, i have played the game since release and have learned a lot on the way, they have changed how damage calculations work on different interactions a handful of times, but never have i had a problem with it.
There is nothing wrong if you understand what to look for or how to calculate.
My build hitting in the 200+ mil per DoT and thats because i have built it that way, clearing Pit Tier 100 atm.
Either watch and read what i linked and get some knowledge on how to optimize your builds or dont, but dont come here complaining like something is wrong when you dont know how it works.
My friend. You have to be a moron to think that you can do something improperly.
367% lightning damage, 100% increased damage, 165% increased critical damage, 170% critical lightning damage, 51% critical chance and another 25-35% chance purely for lightning. +32% damage to nearby enemies. 1.75 times per second (I can increase the maximum to 2.4).
I see the numbers, considering that from 101 to 126 mob levels, the value of the damage done does not change, it is almost always yellow and always corresponds to the value shown on the panel. What could be done wrong if everything works as expected?
Think I double-checked this. And here it is clear that it does not work as it should. There are no modifiers in this game that could change anything in the damage score so that the result would not happen.
More questions?
Been trying to help you but you clearly are not willing to learn anything.
Why would you think the damage numbers will change depending on enemy level?
Do you even know about damage buckets?
Do you know what multi Crit gives when doing a Crit, and do you know the multi for hitting a vulnerable enemy?
Do you think 100% damage affix, increases your damage by 100%?
Simple yes or no questions.
I know you dont understand the damage formulas or calculations by the way you are describing things, you probably done even know how to test things properly either.
Done with you now, have fun dealing 0 damage.
My friend. You are not trying to help, you are trying to prove that you are smarter, while you use the maxroll yourself, and do not try to analyze it yourself.
You can be smarter if you can calculate all this yourself. I haven’t tried to derive the formula yet, but I clearly see that something here is not working as it should. That’s why I watched how the damage changed with increasing level in case the mobs had resistance. But at levels 75 and 126 I do the same damage. Yes, I perceive it, almost all the numbers, and I see that the damage is blocked at the base value.
Before you try to prove that a person is wrong, you need to at least understand what the problem is.
Im trying to help you, and i linked to legit info that will help you even more.
I have run this game for over 1400 hours, i have done my fair share of testing mind you.
I do all my builds myself i dont follow guides.
Asking this again since you ignored the questions.
Do you think a 100% damage affix, increases your damage by 100%?
Okey so describe the problem for me again if i misunderstand it.
You are doing same damage against different leveled enemies?
What are you testing that should work in your opinion, but doesnt?
Yes.
It should change the value to 100% at any point in the formula, that is, 2 times. but changing them to items with other values does not change anything in the value of the damage dealt by the skill, and this is how I found out the resulting damage. Then what kind of damage is this 100%? And why does it have no effect?
PS this should be damage superimposed on the damage of the weapon itself, according to all the rules.
So how can you help me if you don’t know this?
The fact that you have played 1400 hours means that you really understand little about mechanics, I myself can barely stand this mockery of the player
Lol now its even more obvious you dont understand how damage calculations work, again, i highly recommend you watching the video and read the text from the links i sent, it will help you understand your problem within a few minutes.
If the 100% damage affix was a multiplier you would be somewhat correct, but its not, its a additive damage.
It has effect, but not as much as you think…
You seem to stubborn to try and learn and thats on you, dont blame the game for not understand it.
Have fun
EDIT: If i didnt understand much about the game as you say, how come i have beat Uber Lilith every season, NMD100 basically without looking, cleared Pit Tier 100, while you who understand everything, have not?
Can you count?
+100% and * 100% are the same thing. That is, it is X+X or X2 (written as X(y+1) every 100% equals 1).
PS. Damage increase should be considered first.
lol…
Im not going to try anymore, have fun playing the game!
I can easily do this using meta, but the point of the game is to play, and in the process of repeating someone’s experience, the process is lost.
Yes, and you didn’t explain what could be done wrong in this primitive?
