There is no p2w at all in this game, there just isn’t!!
Perhaps there is some confusion on this…
Yes you can get a small xp boost or make elixirs last longer or make them a bit stronger by collecting and spending some kind of ashes ,i saw a screenshot a streamer showed.
But that streamer neglected to say that that is something players can get without spending a buck!
You only buy the game that’s it!!
There will be as we know an in game shop but that is exclusively cosmetics.
I repeat ONLY cosmetics, whatever a streamer or poster says… That’s it!!!
I am not making this up!
If you watch the last developer stream and listen very carefully, you can hear them say that and underlining it!
There are cosmetics that you can buy but that’s it.
No xp ,no xp boost in any shape or form!!
It does not exist.
The only thing people who have the 4 day head start win is potentially getting bored faster. There are no prizes (outside of the HC statue event that most won’t see). If you take that route then those that buy a season pass to an amusement park are also paying to win.
The term “pay to win” typically refers to a model in video games where players can gain a significant advantage or progress faster by spending real money on in-game purchases. While there is no universally accepted official definition, pay to win generally describes a situation where the outcome of a game or a player’s success is heavily influenced by the amount of money they spend rather than their skill or effort.
In pay-to-win games, players who spend more money may gain access to exclusive items, abilities, or upgrades that provide them with a substantial advantage over non-paying players. This advantage can often be perceived as unfair and diminishes the competitive balance of the game. Pay-to-win mechanics can discourage players who are unwilling or unable to spend money from fully enjoying or competing in the game.
Below this line is subjective and an opinionated view not factual.
It’s worth noting that the definition and perception of pay to win can vary among players and communities. Some games may implement monetization strategies that some players consider fair and reasonable, while others may view any form of paid advantage as inherently pay to win. Ultimately, the term “pay to win” is subjective and depends on individual opinions and experiences within the gaming community.
Pay to Win = Paying Real Money for an Advantage over other players.
That’s literally what is happening with Early Access. Players are Paying for a 4 day advantage over other players and that advantage extends to a race to 100.
Most people won’t even push to do the HC event to get their name on a statue that the majority of the player base won’t see. Even so the name on a statue gives no competitive edge over those that decide to go with the standard edition. Just because you refuse to spend the extra $20-30 doesn’t automatically make it Pay to Win.
Also, It was a ChatGPT thing I saved but nice try.
Cry more because regardless of when it starts you still won’t get your name on the statue. The HC event could start with Season 1 and you’d still fail because you follow the herd that wrongfully spouts p2w nonsense and it dilutes the term.
Official p2w would be them adding weapon, armor, and gems into a cash shop for people to buy and the f2p people can’t reasonably acquire this gear.
Again, Having your name added to a statue that very few players will see is not p2w. It gives no in-game benefits. Just get better at the game.
This game is literally not designed and balanced around pvp. if you expect it to be worth more then an occasional distraction i would expect to be disappointed. Also there are seasons. it will reset everyone. Unless you plan to only play forever on eternal realm. then those 4 days will become increasingly meaningless
