Why can’t a necromancer use a staff? Or a sorcerer use a bow? Weird non-optimal flavour builds are fun ways to engage with the game!
Diablo 2 enchant sorcerer with a bow or a melee weapon? Fun stuff, although not “good” at high difficulty levels. But so what? Make a barbarian with a staff, or give that shield to your rogue. Who cares if rogues don’t have any skills that use the shield?
classes tend to lose their unique identity when they remove restrictions like this, I get what you’re saying but it could just have strange, unbalanced instances.
Sto asking for exotic builds. They didn’t even provide the normal builds. You can’T meven use a shild as barbar even though one of the 3 Barbarians on mount areat was a shild wielder…
Did i mention the other one used thworing axes…
See only reason to have these limitations is for “balancing” purpos. But we can see how good the game is balanced…
I thought they could, tbh…maybe they took it out???
It was odd that the Wizards of D3 could do this, tbh.
Idk…Barb literally has zero magic-based skills. I don’t see that as being something they’d do. And while Rogue could use some added defense…can you imagine a crossbow/shield wielding Rogue? They would have to alternate between the crossbow and their shield…probably another not-so-good idea.
In summation: Op, I do admire your desire for diversity. I do. In the case of Rogue using a shield, they would likely have to create some kind of weapon-swapping feature.
This. Doesn’t seem to me that it should be so hard to provide a normal build to players…but it is. But I digress. Short of saying their nerfs could use some work–I’d rather not get in trouble for being disparaging towards the devs. “They” are always watching…
