Theory Crafted Minion Build - AoTD + Mendeln

With the introduction of S1 malignant hearts I started to theory craft a minion build in my head that ‘may’ work. I hoping someone on here can take what I thought of and see if it’s possible in the end game, specifically Uber Lilith.

While playing my summoner build, I notice that it pretty much runs similarly to infinimist’s playstyle. Cooldowns reset fairly quickly and everything seems to melt as it is (I don’t have Mendeln yet). So I started to think about ways to theory craft a new minion build, and I think it can work. Here’s the concept:

Helm - Viscous Aspect (+ 2 Mages)
Chest - Blood Getter’s Aspect (+2 Warriors)
Gloves -Unyielding Commander’s Aspect (AoTD Minions Speed + Damage Reduction)
Legs - Disobedience (Armor)
Feet - Explosive Mist (Casts Corpse Explosion)

Amulet - Grasping Veins (Crit/Crit Damage from veins 100% uptime)
Ring - Mendeln (Unique)’
Ring - Fastblood Aspect (Blood Orbs reduce ultimate cooldown)

Wand - Gore Quils Aspect (Blood lance absorbs orbs)
Focus - Frenzied Dead (Minion Attack Speed)

Skills
AoTD - Blighted Corpse Tendril - Blood Mist - Raise Skeleton - Bone Prison - Blood Lance

Hearts
Decrepit Aura - Sacrilegious - Barber

Go in with Blood Mist to start the fight, tendrils pack of mobs to group, Bone Prison, AoTD, Blood Lance spam pack down.

In Theory AoTD should reset fairly quickly in between packs of mobs + with it’s high lucky hit chance (mine says 88% in-game currently) it should also proc Mendeln on top of everything we’re doing. I noticed that Blood Lance procs lucky hit fairly effectively when I was on my blood lance build for this season. Blood Lance and Gore Quills are only there to proc lucky hit and absorb the blood orbs to reset AoTD even more and help keep minions alive by absorbing the blood orbs to heal them. Obviously I realize this build is scuffed but I feel like this could be possible, even if AoTD doesn’t reset on the next pact of mobs, it should reset/come up fairly quickly with enough CDR. Hopefully someone better at theory crafting than me can think of a better/more efficient way to run this.

Edit #1: I have ran this build through NM 40 and have had 0 issues, currently do NOT have fastblood aspect on my ring or mendeln. Reset potential of AOTD is insane even without fastblood aspect. Here’s a short video showing the reset potential of AOTD and keeping 100% uptime or near close to it.

Edit #2: I have moved disobedience to my chest and put temetry on. Build seems to be a lot more safe now. Will continue testing to see if the extra warriors are needed or if I need to swap to skirmishers 2nd upgrade (crit) for more damage.

Video is in a helltide. Waiting to record a video in a NM dungeon as I don’t have fastblood yet.

I don’t think the addition of blood lance is all that useful. BCE is a lot better at proccing lucky hit.
Here’s some older footage of my S0 Necro running an Infinimist+Mendeln build. Take a look at the CD resets and Mendeln procc rate. The recording is from early July and I guess the build would slap if you add our usual hearts to it.

Well Blood lance is only there for Gore Quills and Fastblood. Allowing us to reset AoTD pretty much instantly once it’s off CD (assuming there’s enough mobs nearby). I’m probably going to go back to my build I was doing before this until I get mendeln then run this again. Either way, the builds fun without Mendeln, and spamming AoTD is hilarious haha.

I’m just saying you don’t need blood lance+orbs for the cd resets. Blighted Corpse Explosion plus Decrepify is enough for 100% uptime on army and probably nets you more lucky hits than blood lance anyway. You’re using quite a few valuable aspect slots for your blood skills while dropping things like the 180% multiplier from blighted and vulnerable from tendrils.

That makes sense, but I’m betting on the fact that AoTD procs ring of mendeln, excessively. I don’t have the ring yet so I can’t test this but I’m curious on if it’s fixed, the same way CE is fixed.

I’m betting on the fact that AoTD procs ring of mendeln, excessively .

It does indeed and it always has.

Well that’s good to know, if only the ring of mendeln would drop for me now…51 uniques later and still no ring. Sigh

AotD just has inherently absurd lucky hit scaling. My S0 necro currently sits at 97% lucky hit chance on AotD and that’s without LHC while barrier is active.

I feel ya. My S0 necro got it well into level 100 and my S1 char got one at 91.
