idk if this is a bug or working as intended to be gamble BUT I thought Ancestral rares and ancestral is supposed to increase by 10% PER upgrade and instead i just upgraded a sword 5x with a starting value of 2107 and ended up at a final value of 2324. before the update every sword would increase by 10% per upgrade and 50% at max so this sword should of been at 3160 NOT 2324. A simple search or doing the math shows that upgrading this sword 5x only increased it by 10% which is a 8% DECREASE.
What is wrong with this system why cant they tell us a simple % each tier of weapon will upgrade by and on top of that why is re rolling an item when upgrading a thing which in some cases makes weapons even WORSE!!!
Can we please get rid of these incompetent devs and bring some OG devs that know what diablo IS and not make everything a constant guessing game or a gamble 247 or having to pull out my Calculus textbooks when figuring out my overall damage output?!
You thought an upgrade would gain 1000 dps? I have never seen that happen. A difference of a couple hundred is the norm between rank 0 and rank 5.
my sword I have now increased by 1000. I’ve had it for like 20+ levels and still haven’t found another sword to switch to dps & affix wise. This was like 3 weeks ago now when i found this sword. Before the update.
2300 weapon becomes 2600 before patch.

There are tiers to items. Maybe your weapon base item power was just below a tier and when you upgraded, it moved up a tier and a new range of values was used.

i know theirs tiers and breakpoints. if you haven’t noticed at times when hitting a breakpoint affixes will re roll and in some cases makes weapons/gear worse.
Yes, but the weapon damage always goes up. I’ve never seen it go down.
yes the DPS goes up. but its not consistent for 1. and 2. it needs to tell us how much it will increase per upgrade with each tier of weapon… sacred, ancestral, uniques, ect.
