Yes and no. The unique pants I found aren’t great but their aspect, unique to the item, is friggin amazing. It basically makes a frozen target kill have a chance at triggering a frost nova. I’ve instantaneously deleted packs with it and it’s awesome. Shame you can’t rip the aspect off and use it on something else.
Dont know how such a huge devteam managed to release the game with the barb uniques being in this state. Not really any exciting items to chase after. Ridiculous weak items that are bland and worse than normal legendaries. Nothing motivating to grind for. Cant believe this from a huge game like d4.
So its’ not just Rogue uniques?? At least I see other classes actually USING their uniques - I never see Rogue’s using theirs
I’m kinda ignorant tho as I only play Rogue
I want that Ring of Minion but if anything it’s too build-defining. I should be able to build minions without needing a specific unique, but who am I kidding, I’ll take it for now.
Didn’t diablo 3 have the same problems when it was new? I seem to recall prior to the expansion everyone said a well rolled rare was better there as well?
I’m not sure why this game seems to be going through the same issues early d3 had, but somehow here we are. You’d just think they might’ve learned something along the way.
why cant it just be a unique aspect and leave it at that?
Why cant i change 1 single stat on it? it would still have 3 fixed stats… but just let me reroll 1 single stat
honestly, this single change would make many of the uniques in this game suddenly useable
The word “absolutely” means that they suck as much as much as possible, which just isn’t the case.
they dont have to be the best, they just have to do something which contributes to the build. Item after item doesn’t just trade stats for mechanics but slot multipliers for what is essentially random stats. There are, maybe, 2 Barb uniques which benifet the build they were designed for.
I’m pretty tired of finding 100,000 Steps. Found about 10 of them so far if not more.
And they still havent improved, wtf is Occy anyway.
crafting mats. who could give up their damage multiplier for a random teleport when the enchantment gives you a better version of it already?
I like how they looked at the oculus from D2 and chose to transfer the one stat that no-one ever liked on it to D4.
Right - like the Oculus - could have been amazing, could have been something players were like - oh yea, that’s a good reason to play Season 1 - hunt that down on the new build. Bleh - nope, instead its another reason to quit the game. Honestly, whoever was in charge of it should be fired - they are BAD at their job and don’t understand the game they are working on.
Yeah. I’ve got 3 chars in WT4 and have found over a dozen uniques so far and… well lets just say I have 0 of them equipped. Every time I get excited at seeing one, then I look at it and just go “meh” and toss it in my stash never to be used…
Barb here just want an unique that says “Immune to all Blizzard nerf”
Most uniques in Diablo 4 are actually build changers.
…As in they can transform any working build into absolute trash if used
Tremble mortals and despair for my constructive criticism has come to this topic. Here it be - “Shluuurrrrp.”
The devs are making insufficient changes unfortunately- they seem to be dead set against the idea of a unique item loot hunt …despite that at its core, this game is a loot hunt. They fundamentally dont understand the core morivating factor for players.
That’s less on the unique system and more on the fact that Uniques need to be INCREDIBLY overpowered to compete in a game that uses this aspect system.
It would make the game faceroll for those who had the uniques if they made them acquirable and good, unless they tuned content like Uber Lilith and NM 100 for these items. Then it would make 1-Whenever you found the unique an absolute chore and invalidate the strength of aspects.
The problem has always been and will always be the aspect system. It’s not fun to engage with, the hunt for perfect aspects is boring, and picking through 40 rares every NM dungeon looking for stats is draining and unfun.
D4 is really the only Diablo game so far where, even for your very first playthrough and start from scratch, finding your first Unique is utterly disappointing. You realize then ‘that’s it, these legendaries and rares are all I have for the rest of the game’.
Its easy just allow people to put aspects on uniques, which then have their own unique bonuses as a base rather than a rare base. Rares would be bis in some slots, uniques in others, just like every arpg game.
