So reading on how people Buy Gold…It’s pretty stupid in the scheme of it all.
Here’s advice from one with little problems with gold.
- Go on adventure with a party, slay some demons, don’t hoard/scrap every rare that has only 2 things that floats your boat.
- Skip gems you don’t need in anything. Space for gear.
- Go sell everything, even sell legendary and uniques that isn’t your build, or no longer useful (legendaries are around 10k-40k varrying, uniques are worth 199-400k at vendors).
- Stop wasting gold on enchant rolls on gear under lvl 80.
- If you rolled 4 times on enchant, and not what you want?You’re grabbing at straws, hock the item.
- DON’T WASTE MATS AND GOLD ON SOMETHING YOU WON’T USE TWO LEVELS LATER!!!
(I have a friend who chats about his druid gear and how hard being lvl30 it is changing and upgrading gear. I am passionately against upgrades, like a drill instructor)
Now onto my take which is alarming to me, and should be for all. The reason that people can do this is because trading HAS THE OPTION TO DO SO. Everyone can trade gold. Don’t say “it’s different what they are doing”, for the user getting gold isn’t. Unless they were actually told the gold is fake, I bet they never thought where the gold came from.
If it’s legitimate from monsters and gear. So what? It’s passing hands and going to the same vendor that rolls awful.
If the option is there. I will defend it.
If it isn’t after a patch. I won’t defend it, because THEN its cheating (or is it? can gold get picked up by others if dropped?).
This cheater bit on forum is dramatic and overreacting, compared to the next BIG BAN, which WILL EFFECT YOU IF YOU GET HELP FROM FRIENDS AND CLAN!
You can say you never take gold from anyone, so what about a 4/4 rare(perfect for your build) from someone you frequently loot dunge with? or they a few lvls above find one for you to lvl into? Or a clanmate who you never question passes something over? What if your build guru/god offers one?
I think a lot of people be livid knowing that gold ban is only foreshadowing to item ban, and item ban really happens.
I don’t like soloing even though it’s easy. I like to bs someone when a lunatic kills them, or a goat-man dropped the peoples axe on em. If it happens, wouldn’t it impact how you game with other fellow D4 demon slayers as well?
I think anyone that got banned is a lucky one.
Not having to play this game anymore is actually a reward and not a punishment.

If rerolling gear didn’t cost hundreds of millions, people wouldn’t be in such a hurry to buy gold.

blizzard is banning people because they havent released a coin for it yet . look at wow retail and classic. they literally sell gold.
im so aggravated with this game right now its wild .
this game was supposed to be perfected… im still playing because i paid the 100$ months before.
you wanna talk about reasons why someone might buy gold, why dont you ask blizz why they released a seasonal perk to get more gold from vendored items but turns out it charges you more when youre upgrading… people literally dont have gold because this game is broken .
or they nerf something out of the blue and then we have to go buy new crap

I don’t think it’s just the only issue, I so far was invited to 2 clans, and neither one did much of party NM looting.
I ran into a Super barb, and went on NM with the barb, his idea of NM is different from mine, I usually have to survive(LoL) 17-20+ lvls every NM, but I run into good loot every…3 NM?
I eventually caught up to being lvl 79, and barb had me look for specific loot and he help me out too since I’m one lvl away from 80. We even went higher when I hit 79 where the butcher with only two of us was 145, and just impossible for him to kill. I’m over there like “don’t worry man, here’s back up for your weaksauce double swing.” and used CoA, doing like magikarp does, splash. ROFL
I think the problem is people are not experiencing the social reward, and the awesome BS-ing of going in a dunge with a party. I have laughed when someone mentions another getting 1hit by that dunge boss tree smash attack right after it happened.
I get it, dying eats durability, but repairs are not as bad if you have a good party balance, a good strategy (like lead the butcher in a cleared area, then ditch him, it works if he’s aggro’d on one guy and they have move spd to do it) and the awareness keeping your mob herder ready for the next area.
the bigger sub problem here besides the gold ban… the “dont reroll something”, i agree mostly wastefull at a lower level… but its also a kick in the teeth when your unable to core game mechanics because of massive resource costs, they should be lowered, or level scaled better, so gold isnt such a HUGE part of the endgame… also i agree with the roll it 4 times and didnt get what you want so trash it. keeps you always hunting for gear and more item hunting/endgame goals while playing
The absurd gold sinks and laughably moronic drop rates we see for Uber uniques are mechanisms blizzard has in place to slow people down. They think, incorrectly, that this will buy them time, when in reality what these things will do is accelerate the death of the game. These are things we are likely not going to see change until Microsoft brass get angry about abysmal player retention and engagement. They will can a bunch of people and eventually somebody will get their hands on this and start to make some decisions that are grounded on planet earth. We’ve seen it before. This song and dance is the same exact thing from 10 years ago with Diablo 3. The circle closes….
I agree on resource being a pain, but you can make it work since you can now use larger stacks in alchemy. I don’t have much problems in mats since most of my lvl 1-50 was constant replacing and scrapping old gear made a stockpile.
when i ran out on that I whisp dunge solo since I can mob herd with 0% difficulty and 1 hit them,and farm my scrap-gear that way. while getting pips of xp as my overall reward for favors.

Add AH, make gold non tradeable… if you see something you want on the AH, grind away. No shortcuts.
