I’ve heard the drop rate for the Shako is 1:800,000 uniques, which is absurd if thats accurate; but besides that, the fact that it has +4 to all skills is just ridiculously overpowered. And now we have allegedly “only” 142 of these floating around due to bugs is also just silly.
Maybe drop it down to +2 to all skills, and make it 1 in 2,000 unique drops-- you know, numbers that actually make sense.
Im not sour and wont quit the game over this (like a lot of people seem to be saying they’ll do, over every little matter), just adding my 2 cents to the discussion. For what its worth, I’m lvl 80 on my first and only nephalem and been having a blast, 9/10 game, just wish they added group finder and leader boards on launch, and are working to release those features ASAP… and maybe fix the drop rates and stats for uber uniques (and potentially reclaim the bugged ones, oor not, idk)
You have to either be lottery winning lucky or attached to a streamers teat so you can benefit from the inevitable next dev screw up when they post a video about it.
I think the game should be about building up a character, not trying to win a slot machine lottery and get rewarded with a game-breaking, auto-win-against-everything-everytime-always item.
Shako should get dropped to +2 to all skills, and the Helm slot should be able to roll +1 to all skills normally-- that would even things out a bit-- and also adjust the drop-rate-- even 1:2,000 uniques sounds high af.
To be fair, if there is an item with +2 to all skills having a reasonably obtainable rate, it will appear in every single build, completely destroying build variety as well.
It makes sense to have ultra rares be so powerful that it would completely power up and fundamentally change any build, at such rarity that nobody would actually build for it before getting it.
Just because blizzard has not posted the drop rates (which they will never post, and never confirm or deny, probably) does not necessarily mean the leaked drop rates are made up.
I heard the drop rates were uncovered via data mining of some game files or something like that, and were leaked to the public. Whether or not they are accurate rates, or whether they have been adjusted since the leak, is unknown-- so just disregarding the leak and claiming the leaked data is fake, like you have done (while not providing any evidence that the leak is fake yourself, either) is not really a valid argument, and an indefensible assertion.
I would also say that whether the leak is accurate or not, there have been millions of hours played in the game with like ZERO official reports of an official drop before the bug-- which further supports the notion that the drop rate is just simply too ridiculous and out of proportion.
Make it +2 to every skill for the Shako,
then make EVERY RARE HELM able to roll +1 to all,
and set the drop rate to be around 1:800 uniques
Boom. Evened out. Easy first-draft for a fix.
