The Shadow Clone

Why did they make this ability little more than a turret?

Was this in an effort to make us feel less like the Necromancer, despite us already having a pre-corpse explosion in the form of Shadow Imbuement? If Shadow Clone acted more like a fleeting minion…imagine the various augments that create a Shadow Clone upon [insert action] and how you could stack them to zip around the battle field…leaving behind combative echoes of yourself that engage the enemy before fading away into the nothingness that bore them.

At the very least, there should be a unique that does this, or even better…a Paragon glyph, allowing you to upgrade the duration in which they remain and/or the damage that they do. Obviously, Shadow Clone and the gear that allows you to spawn clones would have to be adjusted, in terms of duration, potential number, and frequency…but you get the idea.

If done right, it would give the visual feel of a Rogue who can’t tracked in combat…an ethereal figure who’s traces remain to attack. Mechanically, it would just feel so much more fun than the stationary form we have now…almost like Night Crawler, but a bit better…

I don’t know, just a fleeting thought…I just found the current incarnation quite a bit dull, compared to what I expected in an Ultimate.

Shadow clone is just bad imo. It doesn’t take in any of our bonuses and we have to waste an aspect slot for it to just use imbues. It doesn’t even use TB return. It’s only good for an unstoppable which imo concealment is better for which is not saying much.

I wouldn’t even mind all that, and needing to take up that aspect slot to get them using imbues, were they more than a turret.

Though, those inadequacies could certainly be something addressed through upgrading, were there a Paragon glyph for it. I wish Paragon had interesting things like that to begin with.
