I’m at 34/35 sidequests complete. I painstakingly tracked down the one missing and it is “The Scales of History”. Unfortunately it is totally bugged. I cannot talk to the npc quest giver at all. Crafting the associated potion does nothing. I am stuck.

Same here. 34/35. Everything story related completed, but this quest just doesn’t show up on the map and the NPC won’t talk or give the quest. Unless there is a prerequisite that I’m not aware of, it’s bugged.

34/35 sidequest knows it is Scales of history I don’t have but cannot be activted.
Nor does the npc talk or cannot be spoken to.
As some sidequest was bugged in previous season aswell one workaround was to switch difficulty down or up which seem to phase some npc quest in.
Tried this with this one sadly did not work.

Definitely bugged. In release (when some campaign achievements was bugged) - I got all 35 side quests. But know, I tried on hardcore realm - only 34/35. “The Scales of History” - is missing.

It’s bugged, and last patch didn’t fix it. The symbol “!” just dissapeared from the npc and can’t take the quest or interact with the npc. 34/35 here too.

Yes. Same exact issue on my end. I started a new character and have been going in order. Somethings wrong with this quest. Blizz please address this issue

Todays patch did NOT fix this issue. Ongoing bug preventing us from completing the content we bought and paid for. Come on Blizz. Fix this.

Same here. No " ! " over the NPC and changing characters / difficulties doesnt solve the issue. I’m 34/35 as well.
Recently went to complete all Nuhantu content, stuck at 34/35 side quests, have 20/20 dungeons. Positive that it’s the Scales of History quest I’m missing. I’m pretty sure the quest became unable for me to obtain with the 2.0.3 patch because I recall seeing the quest marker above his head prior to that.
Edit: I believe a Hotfix fixed it because I was recently able to complete it, YAY!
The Scales of History is back and working again!

Yes true👍,nothing I saw in yesterday’s mini patch notes but checked myself today and the sidequest worked for me aswell.

just got it working! try abandon and take the quest again. only talk to npc when u already have the elixir (advanced/t2 elixir wont work, basic one does). talking without the proper elixir bugged the quest again for me

Mine works when i make a level 1 elixir of shadow resistance (white). Idk if its because it got fixed, but it wouldnt work with a level 2 elixir.

You have to craft the Basic Elixir of Shadow Resistance potion. Crafting the Elixir of Shadow Resistance II will not move the quest forward.

Craft the basic elixir, not the II elixir and he’ll be able to talk to and give the elixir.
I just tested it today and that works.

still bugged, november 23 2024, pls fix. i want to get the greened eye panther
multiple people above you posted how to make it work. yes fixing it is good, but you could also read and get it done now
