The Sacrilegious and priest minion

Honestly, I’m loving this new s1 effect where bodies are used when passing on them.

However, I noticed that he is not proc the “priest buff” that increases damage and heals minions.

He revives dead minions but doesn’t call the priest. Anyone else noticed this? By the description of the heart, it should happen.

Currently the order of priority is: Revive minions, cast Corpse Tendrils and finally Corpse Explosion.

But even if it had to be that way, I thought this new mechanic was sensational. Too bad it’s only on s1.

As far as I understand, this shouldn’t even revive minions since the description says specifically as it follows:

  • “Walking near a corpse automatically activates a Corpse Skill every second[…]”

Raise Skeleton skill does not have “Corpse” tag on it, but is instead a “Summoning” skill. They should either fix it for not reviving minions at all or fix the heart description.

I had problems against Butcher on lvl 30 with this effect bacause I couldn’t use any corpse explosions on the corpses I generated from passives because it kept using them to auto raise any minion that died (and they die quickly for butcher in this level).

Anyway, I wouldn’t care if they keep the effect of reviving minions without activating priests, but what really bothers me on this is that when it activate Corpse Tendrils it actually CONSUMES the corpse to do it, when the skill specifically says it shouldn’t.

Maybe it should be changed to “any ability that uses a corpse”.

I agree, but it’s weird that he summons the minions but not the priest. Looks like a bug to me.

the skill that targets a corpse to summon it is considered a “corpse” skill

if anything, the “raise skeleton” skill is the one that needs to have “corpse” added to its tags

its problably bad coding
bc instead of using some simple left to the right on the skill bar priority rule
they decided to just make “raise skeleton” have priority over everything else if there is room to summon more minons, so they had to create another rule to stop once minions are maxed bc if not the heart would priority spam “skeletal priests” over everything else but “raise skeleton”

so, in order to make use of priests with the heart, instead of:

  • minionmax-1=raiseskeleton>minionsmax-0=othercorpseskill

they could have make something like:

  • minionmax-1=raiseskeleton>anyminionhp-75%=raiseskeleton>minionmax-0=othercorpseskill

I don’t think it should be summoning minions at all based on the tags and if it does it should be spamming the Priest too. I definitely prefer my Tendrils on demand for strategic pulls/vulns and not whenever it just triggers a random corpse.

The priest is summoning but apparently the skeletal raise is corpse. There’s two skills at play behind the scenes.

Far more likely it’s two separate skills in the coding and one is marked corpse while the other is not. The corpse skill speed might interact this way too.

Another heart that does almost the opposite of what it’s described as intended to do? Shocking.

Wtf are you talking about, it does exactly what we want and what it says.

i hope they fix this, if i wanted to spam my skill to summon the priest i wouldnt be using this heart. in my build there are no other corpse skills and i use a core skill with no basic attack, and to work i have to spam the priest to get essence

What is there to fix? If you don’t want minions to be summoned and only corpse explosion to be used, sacrifice the minions. If you say you need to “spam the priest to get essence”, ie use up corpses, you either use un-buffed skeletons that die fast and get automatically raised which gives you back essence if you have the passive, or just use corpse explosion instead of skeletons. CE eats corpses very fast and gives free extra damage.
I use reaper skellies to create extra corpses while fighting bosses, and I can literally just stand just outside boss melee range and fling 5-7 Bone spears into it before I run dry because of how fast CE is eating corpses and giving me back essence.

I think this is intended. There seems to be a priority system. I like that it summons minions but I would not want it spamming the priest buff. Spamming priest buff doesn’t do anything as the buff needs to actually complete before the heal finishes. So, I at least am glad it does not do this.

The priest buff gives 30% extra damage - it should trigger to keep that buff up

I am just at 46, and running a blight, frost mage/blizzard double curse variant with no basic attack, it is a blast.

Using the corpse MH, Decrepify aura, and fear/chill to combo with the blizzard mages.

I will use this until I get Lidless wall, then spec out of the ice minion stuff and add back bonestorm.

Then swap out the fear/chill MH for the DoT boost.
