The Reset Dungeon button has been disabled

So what’s the deal with this? Is it so we can’t reset partialy completed dungeons? Will we be unable to run the same dungeon twice in a row if we wish to?

Seems like a weird quality of life improvement to me also. Thinking about it maybe it is because you could hit the key (by accident) when pressing tab and then automatically been teleported out of the dungeon. Maybe now you have to hit the “chat” wheel with E and then teleport out and reset.

yeah that also makes sense. now that you said it I’ve remember people saying that you could be teleported out of a dungeon by pressing it. I just wish we get some clarification on that.

Did dungeons reset if you left after they were completed?

They did for me. I didn’t even know there was a dungeon reset button when I played the beta.

You can still probably do it in the menu.

The only thing I can think of is people farming certain portions of a dungeon then resetting as to why.

So just to make it crystal clear, you did several runs of the same dungeon back to back during beta and they reset just by porting out after completing the objective?

when I killed the boss, I opened the map and clicked the gate icon of the dungeon to teleport out to the entrance then went back into the dungeon and everything was reset.

They only reset if you exit and start a new game or press the reset dungeon button.

It’s not clear if they disabled the button permanently or just when in a dungeon.
The former would be to counter people that kill trash then reset, whilst the latter would be to stop people accidentally resetting a dungeon they were in.

which is why I think this was pointed towards people resetting before completing. there was one dungeon, one of the khazra ones, you could do a very small loop that had a very high density of elite mobs for such a small area, reset and repeat.

yes, definitely sounds like to it was done with the intent to stop kill high density groups, rinse and repeat.

I think the only time I used it was when I was doing the Rogue mechanic quest. The NPC I was supposed to find and kill was bugged and I couldn’t interact with her so I used that to start over.

I think the change to increase events in dungeons significantly would help reduce farming of just the first area anyway. Dungeons kind of sucked for obols before, but the change to increase events in dungeons will hopefully make them a decent source of obols now.

Dungeon completion really should have been more rewarding also to discourage you from wanting to just farm trash/elites. Backtrack reduction and all the other dungeon changes will also probably make completing them less annoying and lead you to wanting to complete them even if you could reset them early.

We absolutely need a clarification from blizzard on this… The reset dungeon button felt priceslessly good compared to leave/start game over and over in diablo 3. WTF are you doing?

Forcing you to complete the dungeon.

They dont want people to just farm 1 dungeon. As with anything people with FOMO would feel they have to run “the best” dungeon due to whatever arbitrary streamer tells them is best. Thus, ruining their gaming experience. This is the equivalent of giving your kid a sippee cup because you know theyll spill.

I applaud it.

Aye, sometimes you need to be more firmer handed in enforcing how a game is meant to be played.

Yeah, I really doubt they’d do that to force people to run multiple dungeons. It would just make it look like they are timegating stuff.

In the scenario you provided, it would just change from running 1 dungeon because a streamer said so, to runing this X rotation of dungeons because they are better than the other ones. I honestly fixes nothing. If one dungeon is that much more efficient that people feel they need to run just it the game has bigger balancing problems.

the fastest way to level was goin in a dungeon with high elite density at the start of it. Killing them, resetting the dungeon. Repeat. With this method you would hit 100 way faster then playing normal. That is not what Blizzard wants.

Thats why they want us to complete dungeons before it can be reset again. You can still chain dungeons, but you have to kill Bosses now to reset.
