Its all there slapping your face…
The PTR server show up how bad almost D4 systems are.
You can test almost everything by using the NPC boost.
How many caches you had to open to pick some valuable ancestral gear ? Zillions and that´s what happens in the live.
How many billions you had to expend to get some specific affixes roll in an item ? This is what you will have to expend in the live server
How many times you had to reset masterwork (at cost of 5 millions each reset) to get the near to perfect master working ? This is what happens in the live server.
How many items did you brick to get the near perfect tempering ? That´s what happens in the live server…
And at the end, with near to perfect gear, perfect tempering. perfect roll and perfect master working you can´t do the PIT 100 to level up your glyphs.
No one is asking for a super easy game but for a FAIR thing.
Wrong direction Blizzard… Its a lot anti fun…

Unfortunately the clowns running the show at Blizzard think Torment 1 is “end game”. Not the start of a long climb to end game but the “you can get everything in T1 so only diehards and streamers will push to the highest tiers”
They don’t want most players being able to clear 100 in the pits. They’re fine with players not getting to T3 or T4 in a season… or maxing paragon… those are “stretch goals” and players should just be happy that ancestral gear can drop in any torment level. It’s the sign of leadership that thinks “running numbers” in a spreadsheet is the same as playing a video game.
The soul of a gaming company died at Blizzard a long time ago. What’s left now are market research specialists and financial planners.

Your post points out a major flaw in the game that’s been there for a while now : the crafting systems in this game are a brutal weighted slot machine . You are so correct - it’s the opposite of fun

As I was rolling gear for a character the thought occurred to me that I would be pretty pissed off doing this on live. Unlimited resources and I still hate engaging with the crafting system. It feels bad.
On a side note I think the dev’s tuned the rng to occasionally hit the same result multiple times in a row for masterworking purposes. Unfortunately, it seems the same random number generator is used throughout the game. So we see instances of multiple soul spires spawning or the same temper rolling multiple times in a row.

There is no end game and the entire game is worse than your odds winning big in Vegas.
Way too many affixes with a vast majority being completely useless in your build. Ones that are seem like a .00000001 chance of getting on a good day.
Based on the rng, ancestral have to drop like candy, rain from the sky while we walk and I still give you a .000001 chance of getting something you can really use.
I surely don’t need a PTR server to give me that information.
Blizzard concept of endgame is Grind.
Grind everything you should get naturally while playing.
