The Pit Materials - Needs To Be Fixed

  1. Everyone in the party should get the same pit rewards. Regardless of who opened it.
1b. If it’s that big of a deal, just charge everyone the shards.

  2. You should get all rewards up to the level you have completed. Ex: Completing level 70 gives you the rewards for a 70 in Neathiron and the rewards for the cap of ingolith and obducite.

  3. The rewards do not seem to be better the higher you go (meaning more starred items) and they should be. Not a massive influx, but something to incentivize.

Just do rotas. Its easier to climb higher in groups which means more mats.

There’s too much solo vs group inefficiency already. Runeshards are so abundant they might as well be deleted and opening the pit is free. Masterworking is supposed to be something you do for a little while. Getting all of these materials for a tier 70 run, which a group would easily blast through, would make it too easy. Don’t think Blizzard want to make it this easy/fast.

  1. You do get more rewards the higher you go. You get more neathiron. They don’t want to “lock” increased greater affix droprates to higher difficulty content that many players won’t be able to complete. Greater affixes are fine as rarer drops imo, that you’re not always going to have on every piece.

I feel like doing rotas of 100s would equate to less mats than running 90s solo.

It could but honestly pit multiplayer is a lot of fun. Outside of leveling fun>efficiency or at least for me.

It’s clunky to the point of being asinine for 2024, this would be something I’d expect for D2 not D4.

OP is referring to gear, the gear that drops has the same chance of GAs in Tier 1 that it does for Tier 200. More neathiron really isn’t enough incentive to go beyond Tier 61 as a result.

I agree it would be nice not doing rotas but the :sob: would then start on solo vs group play. It doesnt matter what they do someone os going to be unhappy

They had the problem solved in D3, GRs would require everyone in the party to have a stone. To make it more meaningful they could either reduce the drop rate of Runeshards or increase the cost for a run (which doesn’t seem to go up with each Tier?)

I wouldn’t even be opposed to taking the D3 GR approach for the Ladder Bosses, sure you’d get less runs but that can be compensated with more loot. At the very least that would immediately solve the solo/group debate cause it would be 1-to-1

Thank you for rephrasing it  .

Further to, I am farming 90s just because you get essentially double the masterworking mats and it only takes an extra minute or two. Would be nice if there was more incentive.

I know but like I said, you do get something for doing higher pits. And neathiron is expensive for tier 12 masterworking (requires 550 I think), so it’s not like you don’t need it a lot, especially if you want to reset your masterworks And for the most part pits really is just a way to push your build as far as possible for e-peen/competitive purposes. Higher greater affix droprates shouldn’t be tied to content 95% of the playerbase won’t be able to complete.

This is the point where I think we should agree to disagree.

It’s not intrinsically tied to it. You can get them in other ways, but the more effort you put in, the more you get out of it. How is that not common sense?

That’s like saying MLB players should make the same as Triple A players. Why tie higher salaries to the top 1% of the profession?

They really need to fix party members receiving less pit materials, all it does is incentivize playing alone.

Exactly, I’m on discord with a friend and we have to play solo, otherwise it’s a waste of time since the clearing speed is the same…

Just make party members pay 3 shards and reward them with the same mats

they should do that both for the pit and any ubers
whether solo or in a party : everyone should pay equally in my opinion

and then, once done, make it so everyone get the same potential rewards (i say potential because of course if someone drop an uber unique it doesn’t mean the whole group must drop one too)
