The Pit is pointless

That’s it? Just the masterworking stuff? No gold? No XP (100 anyway)? No loot along the way to the end boss? Just a handful of trash legendries at the end? I just did lvl 25…no way I’m doing these until 61.

Wait til you get to the higher end tiers… no wait same rubbish.
Oh and the damned ‘x second’ punishment when you die and then have to RUN back again. Why not just add +10s to the punishment and spawn the player where they died. :stuck_out_tongue:

Some people like the grind to see how high they can get, others, such as yourself do not. It would seem you have find your stopping point. Nothing wrong with that. Maybe the Infernal Hordes coming in S5 will keep your interest longer but I couldn’t say. Good luck either way.

I find a lot of good gear in pit 101’s and the majority of my funding has come from selling stygian stones 40m per pop. Easily 400m+ a day.

Not dropping loot from enemies is such an insane design decision for an A-RPG.

Imagine trying to get every item you have not only to level 12 but also the stats you want. That would take forever and drive people insane.

For item rain theres Helltides and NM Dungeons. Pit is just a gimmick to see how far you can get quickly. No loot no distracting only fighting and speed.

Endgame activities are always going to be pointless because you’re already at high power levels. Make a new character.

THAT is what THIS type of game is!! If you do not like THIS sort of game, it really isnt for you and you should uninstall and go play something else.

Yeah I sold a 10 stack for 25m a piece. Nice.

Its for masterworking only.

Thing is with D4 is that there is no seperation between stuff. Everything awards the same stuff. Everything that can drop can drop anywhere.

This isnt PoE where each mechanic/endgame stuff has specific things tied to it.

Pit is a kind of lifestyle. If you do it you do it each day every day all day long.

The reasoning behind there being no loot on the way is it’s a timed event. Stopping to pick up loot slows you down. So the drop a chunk at the end.

The power increase you get from masterworking is well worth the effort…at a certain point the point becomes pushing your build to get higher levels. But if you’re not interested in that then yea I guess the pit is pointless.

But you could apply that same logic to anything. Leveling your glyphs is pointless if you don’t want to get stronger, doing helltides are pointless if you don’t want to get gear or boss mats. Killing mobs is pointless if you don’t want to level up. Playing video games is pointless if you really want to get into it.

It would add some moment to moment decisions. Do I grab the loot and risk running out of time or not.

Now, I would prefer if there was no timer, but it should have no bearing on whether items drop or not. Items should always drop from enemies in an A-RPG tbh. Kinda is a core pillar of the genre.

I kinda agree that Pit is kinda junk content. I mean it’s the same as NMD, but worse. You don’t get loot while you kill monsters, you have stupid timer that makes you rush through, some weird portals that take you to the same dungeon.

This whole masterwork and boss (rework) should have been in NMD instead without ability to select whatever Tier you want to do, so it would work same as the Pit - climbing up 1 by 1. You’d be able to get the loot when you slay monsters, masterwork, level up glyphs, have better bosses and so on. Now that would be a very nice update for NMD, but cutting it into 2 I don’t know… Surely don’t want to see another NMD copy named as new content, witch I suspect is what VOH Co Op gonna be.

Fix for this problem is the same fix that would of made a WHOLE lot better since release. REWARD FOR DIFFICULTY. We finally got blizzard to do it in AOZ and give proper glyph xp to match the difficulty increase. But they got rid of AoZ and quit doing it again.
Mob has 100 percent more hp. 100 percent more rewards. And that includes that group xp bonus. Mobs going to have 100 percent hp per player they should also get at the very least 25 percetn xp PER PLAYER.

You get obols too. As well as gold, 250k at the end at least in PIT 101. No loot during the run is good, i dont have to stop to pick stuff up. The legendaries have a chance to be GA gear. You dont have to do PIT, you only need it if you dont want to be carried for hard content.
