The Pit is a problem

During the PTR the Pit was nice and doable right from the get go.
Some people complained that is was to easy. (no idea why)
Well D4S4 changed the Pit and IMO they went to far. Now its really difficult
I’m not weak by any means either. My Attack power in combat is about 75K and I see damage numbers in the millions all the time. I’m a Minion Necro.

So I just feel that the Pit was made to difficult and they need to put it back to the way it was in the PTR.

Yeah, I’m struggling with my Barb. Some bosses are ok, I can see when they are doing their insta-kill attacks and usually get out of the way. Some, like the sharpshooter, I just port out immediately and some bosses, because everything is the same colour, I don’t even see what insta kills me. I actually can’t unlock the last tier of masterworking mats right now and I’m getting frustrated

Attack power isn’t really a good indicator or strength but 74k seems low. Mine pushed 200k in compat and my damage kinda sucks right now. In the pit you also need a ton of health and defense, doesn’t matter how hard you hit if you can’t take a hit yourself.

The pit I think is a great challenge. As my masterworking levels get higher so does my pit.

You guys do realize that you’re not expected to get super far in the Pit, right? It’s a new system that just came out, there WILL be power creep in future seasons/expansions.

Just look at Greater Rifts in D3, it will be the same thing, eventually in a few seasons, everyone will be powerful enough to do Pit 200, unless they rebalance it of course.

You only need Pit 61 to get the masterworking mats to max out your gear anyway.

So I not the only one that feels this way.
Blizzard is BIG on being able to Masterwork this season and if a powerful player cant do the level required for the mats then that would seem to be a problem IMO

If you can’t do Pits in the 60’s, you are NOT a powerful player.

Define powerful player? I’m seeing minion build doing 120+ what tier are you on?

No, you’re not. I have enjoyed aRPGs over the years because I can zone out and just spend time grinding to get my rewards and be in my happy space. I don’t need my games to be mind-alteringly difficult. The fact that going through the 2 levels of mobs is very easy and the boss is then a crazy level of difficulty higher just annoys me. I have never enjoyed game mechanics like this.

especially as a minion necro lol.

Blizzard it looks like some people want you to water down the game even more, be careful.

Tip for pits: Go on the discord, get into a group and it is way easier to do as people can rez you when you get one-shotted.

If you are not expected to reach the end of The Pit, what is the point in making it go as far as 200, and making it unreachable? The point of the game, is to grind your gear so you CAN reach the end game… and reaching the end of The Pit, is part of the end game…

Right now, I am stuck as a Sorc on Tier 60. Could i try going some ridiculous meta? probably, but It is nye impossible right now to not die from the one shot mechanics.

They seriously need to remove them. If not completely, but at least 75%. Additionally, they need to take a page from FF14, and create identifying marks/pathways that should make us aware of the location. Instead of getting flat out one shot from a corpse bow off screen.

i think the main problem here is that the ‘point of the game’ is just really stupid.

lol, I literally explained why they made it 200 in my post. It’s to leave room for the inevitable power creep in the future. It was just like this in D3. It’s not a problem, you just need to adjust your expectations.

Why do people whine as soon as there is a challenge? You arent entilted to do it all.

The boss one shotting is absolutely ridiculous. This mechanic needs to go, especially when it’s nearly impossible to see when it’s going to happen. Had full health (30k ish), full fortify, and get one shotted with full resist and armor, like gtfo here at least give me a chance to learn what hit me instead of insta killing me. Had 75% of the timer left when i got to the boss. NOT FUN.

Pit is fine honestly. Some bosses could definitely do with some tweaking but I’ve been learning their attacks as well as the shadow bosses they summon. Almost all of their attacks ARE telegraphed well in advance. For starters, any shadow boss has to first be summoned before they even do anything, which gives people plenty of warning of what attack is about come their way.

I dunno, people just seem incapable of learning mechanics and strategy anymore. Everyone is full of entitlement these days. I’m glad Blizzard hasn’t caved in and just turned pit tier 200 into a joke, like it was on PTR. They should probably remove the pit tier 200 and tier 150 achievements though. It’s clear they were added earlier in development, when the pit was easier.

My mom said I am a powerful player, she also said I make the Sun shine. :hamster:

They need to fix the damage curve… nothing, nothing, nothing, one shot. Why is life per second in the game if it’s all one shots? I have 55k HP and sharpshooter one shots me at tier 61 with max armor/resists.

pit is way overtuned if it only last 1 season, however from what i have heard, it is here to stay?

in that case i am somewhat ok with the pit being impossible to complete right now, although i would have preferred to have them release the 150+ pit levels at a later date instead of right now.

I hate content you can’t possibly complete, at that point it is not my skill issue, it is your god damn math issue.
