This in-game activity will always explicitly show players the HUGE difference in class power/balance. Think this is not good and they need to replace it with something more convenient.
Imagine Barb doing Pit 140 and Druid doing Pit 95 at most… We will end up in endless complains from players
You did not need PIT to see the difference in damage numbers.

So problem is not nonexistant balance but content what make it more clear to see… Right
It is like saying thief is not the problem but vitness is…

First, Im not talking about damage numbers and myself I dont care about Pit Higer than 61, the Pit for me is just a resource source.
Second, we have different players all over the globe, so complains will be as long as we have the Pit. We(me and you) cant make everybody think the same
Honestly , you shouldn’t care about pits > 100 until leaderboards are out. They will obviously balance classes and specs better when this becomes a thing next expansion.
I am playing hardcore for the first time since about 5 days ago and I won’t go back to softcore until leaderboards are out. There is just no excitement in softcore atm.
Agree with you, but I think they will rather fix the Pit than make a good class balance
The reason something like the Pit exists is to give more powerful gear a reason to exist.
If you have finite difficulty then once a build can clear that difficulty it doesn’t need better gear. Better gear simply makes things easier by making it smoother or faster. This isn’t satisfactory to a lot of people.
‘Infinite’ scaling means that builds eventually hit a wall. This means you have a reason to chase better gear because it gives you a chance at achieving progress. It’s unlikely you will ever get absolute perfect gear in every slot in 3 months, meaning the chase doesn’t really end.
Self-fulfilling prophecy?
“I am complaining that there will be complaining!”
Well, they just nerfed pits so now all classes can hit pit 100, I guess. So I believe the game is at a point that even though classes are unbalanced, all of them can farm all content.
I think that unfortunately they also nerfed pinnacle bosses which I think was not necessary though.

Well if you agree, don´t encourage Blizzard with topic like this.
Yeap, the season is over once you have done pit 100 for the achievement and done each tormented boss once on softcore.
Yeah, for me the pit nerfs are ok, we didn’t hit 200 yet and it still doesn’t look it will be easy. So the challenge still there to those who want to push more and at the same time every class can engage with all the system. It seems good to me. Class balance wise, it will also work as a measure too in the future.
Now, pinnacle bosses needs to be pinnacle. I am yet to try uber lilith after the parch, but I can only hope it is not that nerfed as I felt the fight was on point before, and in that case they could have tuned the classes themselves for it if one of them was underperforming too much, instead lowering the challenge for everyone, since this content is not scalable as pits.
After 4 seasons, it is not that obvious…in fact I will be holding off on the expansion until I see it.
On contrary. It helps to show devs where to buff and nerf, and how much.
How about flipping your thinking on this. With the pit they now have huge amounts of data for one event that scales more than any other content in the game. What classes perform well in terms of DPS and toughness. They can then use that data to make future improvements. Without the pit it might be harder to get that same information.
Whether or not the pit exists, players will always find a way to measure the power imbalance. The alternative would be the even less desirable option of making the game so easy that no one can tell.
Meta and imbalance will always happen and people will always use it to cry foul. I’d rather have a means for people to challenge themselves and see how far they can go than to have none of that for fear of people feeling inadequate. The choice to look at what another player is doing with another class to measure their own worth is a player choice, not the developers.
