The only thing more boring than doing Pits for Paragon is

…doing pit for paragon when:

  • there are so many pit dead ends to have to turn around and retrace steps.
  • the terrain, especially on some of the newer Nahauntu style pits, is so camouflaged you can’t see floor obstacles.
  • the doors are so narrow and paths so convoluted to be able to get any sort of flow going.
  • that damn upgrade glyph button is constantly being triggered when you are just trying to get the loot surrounding it (on controller at least).

These are just a few that come to mind. Now that pits are the de facto way to achieve XP for higher Paragon levels, they need to be streamlined for efficiency and speed, something that you can do over and over and over and over and over without becoming overly frustrated.

Blizz learned this lesson back in S2 with NMDs and made them more linear, why they have backslid with the latest pit designs is anyone’s guess. I’d bet if you took a poll for the favorite pit design now, I’d bet it would be the new Arizona desert mesa open area level, perfect for speed.

I really think all pit 2nd levels should be one giant loop. There are too many wings for that kind of content.

if you are getting burned out on pushing pits do something else for a bit. i like doing hordes with friends to alleviate the monotony

I just put on some music and the boredom goes away. I learned that from doing bounties in D3.

Hopefully the numbers for P225-300 will be retuned at some point. They’re so high that you aren’t going to get them all unless you’re no-lifing with a build that can do high enough pits to get good EXP.

I like how you guys are suggesting other things to do while playing this game to not be bored while playing this game.

I have two screens, while I play this game I play a bit of Overwatch and Starcraft to break the monotony

I’m at 266 paragon and the amount of experience required is just dumb. Hopefully they bring it down. I think the amount of exp required in the 235-240 range should just remain the same all the way to 300.

oh god, you are one of these people noone wants in his OW team?

Yeah loot all over the glyph upgrade thing is annoying. Would be better if it “dissolved” when you used up your attempts. Same as Andariel dropping loot on the altar.

Don’t loot (or a single loot just to count runs), don’t level glyphs… see my tips after I reached the paragon 300 all solo here:

Crushing hand SB looks like fun, especially in the pit where there’s the black-and-white spiders that spit webs at you from across the room. Even when the pit run is supposed to be all about speed, something in me just has to unalive all of those things.

Pit is still better than IH as you can’t make the mobs spawn faster no matter what is your DPS. The worst part is we still have to kill the remaining trash mobs far away after the timer is out to progress to next wave.

They do need to buff mob density. Your character can fail or succeed based on mob density luck.

It would have to be retuned by a whole lot considering P225 isn’t even 10% of the total way to P300.
