The Occultist is Awful

I just spent 100 forgotten souls and 700 million gold for 50 rolls on an amulet that would not give me Envenom. The amulet has CDR / MS / Spirit Cost Reduction. This sucks.

Amulets are basically impossible. There are like 50 rolls. You have to set a limit and stick with it or it will just break you over and over. I do an initial 10 and then 1 roll per day on my godly amulet tries. The rolls where you need a +3 to a passive on amulet or skill on gloves are the worst by far it seems.

The other impossible ones for me are movespeed on boots and resource cost on rings.

never got movement speed on boots myself either yet. resource cost reduction isnt that rare on rings tho from what i feel.

but yea, a limit to enchanting is always good. at one point an item is just trashed. not really that much of an issue considering how easy it is to farm 925 gear.

Yeah, we need better crafting.

Same bad luck with a perfect amu some weeks ago. I was so happy for a 3perfect rolled stats …surely impossible to find another one like that and cannot stop gamble. At the end i trashed it and stopped playing for days. The problem is that they are not even going to fix this, their genuary fix to the occultist is pretty useless, you will be able to see the possible rolls(thing that you can already see on the web) and you will pay after.no difference at all🤷🏻‍♀️

They should cap it. After 10 rolls or whatever number you get to choose the stat you want. Its not like were rerolling all of the stats…just one

I agree with this, there is 0 reason any crafting should cost 7million gold to enchant 1 time. let alone 700million. I got an item currently at 5.6billion a roll and I gave up too its ridiculous. The cap should be 10mil a roll that you reach after the 10th roll. Now if you were able to reroll each and every stat on the item then sure this current system would be justified.

Yikes. You need a sponsor. :stuck_out_tongue:
I thought I was bad at chasing when I dropped from 130M to 20M.

just do one roll a day and some day you might get lucky .

At least they could do what exists in D3: show a list of possible enchantments for that as replacement for a particular property, so you can decide ahead if you want to take the chance.

They said this will be part of the improvements coming next month at the same time as the Abattoir of Zir.
Though the problem here is not the occultist iself. It’s the itemization, once again, and how terrible it is, especially on amulets. There are soooooo many possible affixes on those that fishing for a specific one is a chore.

Is it even possible? D3 showed you the possible outcome, but it’s missing in this game.

Ah the Lost Ark Honing route. 5% chance of success per try then after you use a ton of mats to no avail, it becomes guaranteed. I mean I think everyone would love that system, but I would be content with a cap on the Gold cost per reroll. Let’s say a 925 item cost 5,000,000 Gold a Reroll max. You might not get the roll you want 30 times in a row amounting to 150,000,000 Gold wasted.

The 2nd feature that should be added is every time you Enchant, of the 2 Enchants you can pick one to not appear again. This would keep lowering the RNG. In the above example of 30 rolls, you would have 30 Affixes you could mark to not appear. Once you are only left with the Affix you want, you are now rolling for the specific value. You KNOW you will get Max Resource for example, but are rerolling for the Maximum value.

Now, to get to that point would take an astronomical amount of Gold, so why not. By that time you have already farmed and spent the time.

Personally, I hate those abysmal x% chances that are put on top of each other and add to each other in subtle ways; I prefer plain skill increases. Even my brain can understand those.

You spent 700 mill trying to reroll a necklace, that’s not even sad, it’s hysterical that you would even do that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah, re-roll system is still terrible. Gets too expensive too quickly, specially when you have an item like TC’s that will be next to impossible to replace, so you HAVE to get that roll.

It’s infuriating.

wait you can reroll stats like d3?

After a certain point you just gotta step the investment and cut your losses. Spending exponentially more until you lose everything is mostly a self-made problem. You can find another decent 3/4 and start the process over and hope you have better luck this time - that’s the way to go. And on most builds you usually have some options where it comes to 4/4 (like there is a BIS 4/4 and there is a good enough 4/4 so don’t get too greedy  ).

I found it much better to get good rolls by waiting for an amulet with the skill I want on it, and then rerolling something else.

Yea, so much for his “honest magic”.
