My question is this… If I already own Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition, Will I need to spend another $90? If so, that means that I’m paying the exact same amount as i did when i got the game originally. The Vessel of Hatred Editions all include the base game, which I’ve already paid for, so the Second question would be this, why would i need to buy the base game again for the same system?

Yes, if you want the ultimate edition for the expansion. The base game editions are completely separate products. The Vessel of Hatred editions include extras / exclusives for the expansion.
You don’t, Think of it as a add on to the base game.
but thinking of it that way doesnt make sense, to me at least… only because the $90 price point includes the base game price plus the expansion and other assorted items.
i just find it confusing
Edit: I just looked at the store page, and only one edition of the expansion comes with the base game. It is a combo pack. The ultimate and other editions are completely different. So you aren’t paying for the base game again, nor is the base game included with the other editions.

You stated that you already own the base game Does not matter what version. So the short answer is yes you will have to pay for the xpac, But you will not need to re-purchase the base game.

you’re not paying for the base game, you’re paying for the ultimate edition of the EXPANSION.
If you want another ultimate edition, I think so. If you don’t, you can also just get the base game for 40, and it’s the exact same thing minus cosmetics.
What happens to my character when i have to reinstall a game i already own and play. Instead of just getting an expansion/ add on ? Is it just for money? Will i lose my stuff?
It’s an online game, everything is saved on Blizzard’s servers. You could visit Timbuktu and login to your account and play your character(s).
No idea what the second part of your question is about.
Is this your first online game?
No online game, in its history, has ever taken away characters or items due to a new expansion, or even DLC coming out. Now that doesn’t mean games haven’t shut down their servers and taken away everything, but that’s completely different.
The only thing what will happen to you if you don’t purchase the expansion is you will not gain access to whatever the expansion comes out with. The new class, zone, etc.
