So I have been playing a necro since the season launch… Have run tons of Hordes…
I have not seen or have had one drop from a chest.
Inspecting other Necros… I have not seen one equipped either.
Does it exist? (Even if it is bugged.)
I have found a few, no one has it equipped because I have been told its awful.
Personally as a minion only player, its just not an item built for me. I honestly don’t know what build would use it 
Yes, it exists, I have several, people just never equip it because it’s trash.
The unique effect is garbage. Simulacrums don’t really scale and the worst part is that only five can exist simultaneously. If you summon a new one while at the cap, the oldest just disappears without dealing any damage.
When they explode they do trigger effects like the tempering “casting a macabre skill restores essence” but then again, they get replaced without ever exploding.

The fact they die as soon as cap is hit might help Ur rune to gain offerings faster. It says “Your Minion or Companion kills an enemy or dies.” I will use Bone Prison (6 minions) and Mortacrux skeletons “chain-exploding” to test it in PTR.
I agree the explosion damage is crap, but in 2.0 might scale better, will see…

If you can’t find something in hordes you should try with nmd or world bosses. I know they suck but it was the only way I could find a Crown of Lucion because up to this day Hordes have given me everything BUT a Crown :^) why? No idea
Yeah, sometimes rng is like that. I killed tormented zir probably 20-30 times by now and got three bad Fractured Winterglasses.
Try to join a clan. I do exchange items in my clan from time to time. Might help.

All because it is garbage it still should be dropping.
found one earlier today, just keep clearing it and always open the big chest, it often has the new uniques in it.

On the PTR, they exploded immediately when new ones replaced them, but the item still didn’t seem that useful compared to the alternatives.
