I dont understand why I want invokers.
You do a dungeon, and every elite drops a Heart.
Then you get to the end of the dungeon, and spend an invoker to get… a Heart.
You can choose to craft a heart or an invoker. Invokers are like twice as expensive.
Invokers can be traded for… a heart? What?
Why dont I just skip all that and just kill Elites that drop Hearts?

My issue with hearts is on druid super fun , got a build changing heart that was really fun early.
Sorcerer, not really getting much exciting, getting the same drops, left wondering if hearts out their are worth chasing.
The new sorcerer aspec’s though are great and i am enjoying those.

You need the colored invokers to craft the Vashran invoker.
Based on another post, Vashran is a very good source of 800+ gear.
Wolves do no damage at all… like nada… i tried the wearwolf pet build and still nada… the creaper is by far the best pet… locks the full screen nearly and with the crit reset you can spam it all day with a lightning build!
Wolves also keep getting stuck on the ceiling of dungeons when you have more than 2… terrible game

If you have 16 ranks in wolfs and a filled out paragon board and level 21 glyph buffing the wolf’s damage they hit for 417 damage at level 100.
Less than your basic attack with 1 rank in basic attack.
That is NOT build changing.
It’s actually disgusting how bad minions are in this game outright, wolves being the worst out of all of them. I got wolves to rank 6 with the heart by level 10 and was actually appalled that they only did like 15 damage while rank 1 basic was doing like 200 damage.

I got the heart early so allows for and full pet build super early, due to 3 free points.
That is what i meant, something fun i cant do in normal game.

So simply put at the level i was that allowed me to run a build like 3 pets , since i have 3 free points for wolves, was fun. Didn’t say best in slow uber damage nothing, just fun.

I literally forgot to do it for the first 60 levels, that is how little it means. I almost rather have skulls in my jewelry. I basically just threw what ever into my jewelry and kept on going.
Elites are random. There’s 4 types of hearts (that I’ve seen). The malignant “boils” at the end of the tunnels are also random, but you have a choice for what type of heart you want: Specific or Gray/All.
From this, I see the invoker as a means to get a specific type of heart you want, but the problem is that to craft the invoker you need to have also found these hearts and salvaged them. In my personal case, I can’t make a Vicious one as they never drop for me.
They are for target hunting specific slots.
Let’s say you are looking for a vicious heart, without an invoker it’s pure RNG whether you’ll find any malignant elites that drop a viscous heart; with the invoker you are guaranteed at least one vicious heart if there’s a vicious node.
Most of my invokers were drops.
Congratulations on gaining… absolutely nothing. Because wolves are literal garbage.
You can like whatever you want; nobody is stopping you. That doesn’t mean that the heart power isn’t completely worthless. It does functionally nothing… but so does your build if it centers on wolves.
