I agree, they also come across as arrogant when answering a lot of questions. Getting some “you’re wrong” vibes for sure.

He has to do some hokey PR stunt to satisfy the company. I’d be angry too.

Legit he sighed when asked if builder skills could be better and give more ressources.

His demeanor is no indicator of his enjoyment of balancing or playing the game. You’re not entitled to a cheery developer. Charisma isn’t a prerequisite to being a good designer.
But also, he seemed fine.

Yeah maybe he doesn’t have to be cheery or whatever, but this is a PR event. Don’t put a guy up there that comes across as a tw@t with an air of superiority that implies that the player base are the ones who are wrong.
I personally am having some fun but there are definitely elements that are frelling tedious to play right now.
Time will tell how this game will evolve though.
Joe Shelly the director isn’t the necro main. It’s the manager eating the cookies and the girl beside him. He most likely doesn’t even play his own game.

I wouldn’t have done a livestream, all the angry, raging players getting a good look at me? Yeah, I wouldn’t have been happy at all either. Probably wouldn’t go out for a couple weekends. People too crazy violent nowadays and for stupid reasons.
Don’t overreact. They JUST shipped a game that was briefly in dev hell. Joe is fine. If he didn’t love Diablo it wouldn’t resemble 1 and 2 as much as it does.
The game will be fine. He’s probably just tired from months of crunch and didn’t really vibe with the chat but wanted to show you he gives a crap.
I always thought this was an interesting take some people have. The devs made this game and if they want it a certain way then they have every right to do so. The player base can’t do a damn thing about it either.
Sure there are consequences from not listening to feedback and the loss of players and revenue. But if the Devs want the game to be a certain way and that’s that, who’s to say they are wrong and the player base is right? The devs made the game and have their own vision for it.
After feedback is given and the changes you want are not made, stop playing and go play something else. Or better yet, make you’re own game.
