I constantly find myself in a pickle with this herb. It’s required for absolutely everything the game has to offer? Why?!
Want to push high pits (The actual endgame)? You’ll need Antivenin, Incenses, Elixirs - All costing Angelbreath to make, and in some cases LOTS. You’re looking at 2-300 Angelbreath PER PIT and god forbid you die and have to re-incense.
Now, I get it’s a herb, but why is it not included in “Bundle of Herbs” so that it’s actually properly farmable without having to spend hours and hours doing boring content just so you can play what you’re intended to play. It’s overwhelming amounts of time investment to simply get a shot at something fun… Bare in mind this is just consumables. Don’t even get me started on…
ENCHANTING
Why does this require herbs?! It’s meant to be magic. He’s not rubbing a leaf on it, he’s waving a wand or whacking it with a magic hammer. Why the hell is angelbreath a requirement ?! It’s SO dumb… Especially with this weighting system you’ve created to completely block any decent enchanting push. It’s not rare to spend BILLIONS to get a good enchant roll on a good piece of gear, and if you do spend just 1 billion to enchant, which isn’t a lot for enchanting in this game frankly you’ve been lucky to only spend that much… that (at 5mill per attempt, and 6 angelbreath per attempt), is 1200 Angelbreath used for enchanting. That’s a lot… That’s way way too much.
This herb needs to be toned down on it’s reliance for the core aspects of the game. It makes the game incredibly tedious to have this incessant herb grind mixed in with ALL OF THE DAMN RNG WE ALREADY DEAL WITH.
Frankly - The main draws to botting, or buying botted gold, is to skip grinds like this one. It’s a fool’s game to play fairly and spend hours farming this crap when you can buy the gold required to buy the materials you need for less than £0.01… You are literally forcing people to bot or buy gold in your own game by keeping grinds like this in the way of actual gameplay.

well they like to mat gate things. Like you have to get mats to kill to different bosses to get mat to do the boss you really want. But the irony is thick. I hated tempering and mastegambling, so I farmed legions for blood to sell and did tons of nmd 100 for Ga items and i swim in Angelbreath. Wish we could trade it.

No idea where these drop best and what requires them the most.
I’ve gone through thousands of pits (a lot of speed 101, pushed to 139 max can’t do much more), every piece of stuff is 2 or 3 GA, max enchanted, good tempered and max masterworked with triple crit on the single most desired affix (countless resets).
And I still have over 10k angelbreath available now ?

My guess is you’re mainly avoiding certain activities to prioritize others, which is understandable but that’s not how the game is designed.
Events typically drop 7-10 and take 2 minutes or less - don’t skip them. Whispers are good too I think, but don’t quote me, I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Unless you’re doing really high level pits, skip the incense too, it’s too expensive to layer on top of elixirs. I run a blizzard/ice shard sorc (lame, right?) as my main and I can do low 60s with just fortitude II and gear at about 8-10/12 so far on average. My necro has worse gear as far as GAs go (although I’ve pushed masterworking higher) and I can do 85 without elixirs easily and above 90 again just with fortitude II.
If you ARE pushing higher pits, yes, it will be more resource intensive, so expect to have to farm now and then.
Angelbreath will not be required for enchanting in Season5.

This game is not designed at all. They just said “Make everything RNG” then put some skill names to it.

The Angelbreath bottleneck is there to slow progression for RMT buyers. Without it you could use real money for 100% of the end-game loop. Everthing else required to farm bosses (mats/stones/gear, etc.) can be purchased with real money. But in order to enchant gear, they must play the game. Since Blizzard has proven they cannot stop bot farmers and RMT they have to artifically limit progression with stuff like this.
This is changing in S5. Id like to see them speak about there strategy in combating RMT since they opened the door and keep opening it wider.
They probably just change it out for something else or weight the crap affixes even more to replace the grind.
That’s weird, I have never had an angelbreath issue.
Yeah same but I did do quite a bit of HT to farm gear. I think I still have 10k left.
It was an issue early game tho because I gobbled them up making 100 quest elixers.
Ill bet the correlation between people that lack angelbreath and the people willing to chase passive enchantments in their amulets is 1:1

I understand where some of the anger is from but saying “it’s not designed” is facetious to the point of being ludicrous.
The question is…
Does this game have to do full of busy work?
It’s just not fun.
They do all this gatekeep ING to artificaly stretch the playtime while kinda ignoring the fact it’s pissing of exactly the people they rely on. There player base.
