The Great Feast and Determination build bugged?

well to make it short there are 2 hearts in season one that on paper seemed to be the best combo for minions build The Great Feast which gives double dmg to minions but drains essence, Determination which reduces resources draining effects by 100%… i saw that and thought it was so good but im seeing 2 issues here… first is that minions dmg did not seem to go up that much it didnt realy double… and the second heart is not stopping the draining effect at all even tho it says reduces draining by 100% … so idk if some how im doing something wrong or these 2 hearts r bugged like everything else

Determination does nothing and Great Feast is a bit of additive damage that’s hardly noticeable. This affects all builds, minions or not.

I just got the Great Feast Wrathful Malignant Heart and I was able to observe it. Mine says it drains 1.4 Essence per second for each minion but it improves their damage by 79%.

Inside a town, the Essence draining wont happen so I would see my Essence full.

When I leave the town it starts draining 15.4 Essence per sec (11 minions x 1.4). I only have 100 Essence so in 6 seconds, I would be 0 Essence. Then the Essence climbs up on increment of 1 all the way to 16 and goes back to zero and it repeats this cycle.

So this is how I interpret my observation. If 15.4 Essence is being drained every sec, my minions would have the buff. If not, they wont have the buff. It means when I see my Essences empty, my minions are not getting the buff.

While my Essences is being drained, I have to refill my Essences fast to maintain/keep the buff. How do I do that? I have to spam consume corpse for Grim Harvest to give me essences. And I need tons of corpses… Hewed Flesh and Reaper with Cold Mages helping me get essences.

I need very fast corpse consumption. My main ability to consume corpse is Corpse Explosion. But this is slow by default. I have to use Howl from Below Unique becoz it has Corpse skill attack speed. And another item to do fast consume corpse is Black River Unique. It consumes 5 corpses in one mouse button. So these 2 items, I could fill up my Essences in few clicks as long as there are tons of corpses.

So before I start the fight, I wont have Great Feast buff. But when I started detonating Corpse Explosions filling up my essences into full while its draining, that’s when I start getting minion buffs.

It is working. I can destroy NM dungeons 15 levels above me… no Mendeln ring/ no barber heart.

To me, the damage seems better than my Creeping Death Wrathful Malignant Heart. But the latter is faster to setup… it just needs crowd control which is quicker in gettin a buff.

I havent tried Determination though. I cant replace my Decrepit Aura Heart and Sacrilegious Heart.

Oh btw, while writing this post, I left my toon on place where it has a regular event (on Torment). And my toon started the event on her own and completed it. The skellies are my weapon. Sacrilegious Heart automates corpse explosions buffing the Great Feast. And it has tendrils too. My skellies are killing the mobs by itself. ROFL.

I only need Black River to kill hard Elites. I think the rest of the setup could be automated. ROFL. I will observe more.

Edit: Great Feast - Sacrilegious - Decrepit Aura - Howl from Below … would auto kill everything on Torment World.

I Can confirm that. Great Feast really does nothing at all but Tooltip says x78%. And Determination dont work with Grat Feast.

@Blizzard! Please Fix that!!

It didn’t work with the resource drain NM affix, either.

Add more broken crap to latest patch determination not working with great feast, tried it with reapers cleaving corpses still didnt work add to the new bug list or continued bug list imperfectly balance though they did manage to get the bug that prevented more than 1 point in it but just like the 1 point prior to 1.11 it wasnt working at all now 3 points are not working at all you do not get 15%[x] increased damage nor does it apply 9%[x] increased resources. DO NOT PUT ANY POINTS IN Imperfectly Balanced IT IS NOT WORKING AT ALL.

Thanks to this thread. I accidentally discovered that my Summoner became an AFK Summoner when I parked my toon in the game while I made a post here. When I returned, I saw lots of loots surrounded me. The mobs respawned while I was AFK and my Minions handled them all. ROFL :rofl:
