Please, DO NOT balance the game around dads who play it for 10h a week, the game should be super grindy and we should have a good reason to grind for. Maybe something like XP loss on death kinda like poe does, so that level 100 is not something easally achivable.
ARPG’s are all about grinding the same content over and over again, but to make that feel good there should be a constant feeling of progression but at the same time it shouldn’t be easy to get GOD tier gear.
I want to be able to break the game but in order to feel that i broke the game i want to grind hard and have a real feelig of accomplishment of getting that god tier gear, and it should take time, not something done in 30h of gameplay. Please think about this.
No, it shouldn’t be. The game should be fun & rewarding. You “hardcore” players are just trying to live your life through a video game and want to gatekeep others from enjoying the game unless it’s by your standards.
The game is super grindy alright but grinding loot is pointless since you make everything including Uber Lilith go poof on contact at level 100
So alienate your core audience by catering to the vocal minority. Yea that sounds about right. You do realize there are other games aside from Diablo 4 that let you grind to your hearts content right?
Blizzard games were always meant for the casuals. It’s their core audience. It’s where most of the money comes from. Compare any Diablo game to PoE and you’ll see a huge change in the community from both. Not to mention the amount of players.
Far fewer people play PoE, this is a known fact. PoE developers have even stated they prefer their smaller player base and they know the game is not for everyone. It’s a niche game for a niche audience. You sound like you would be perfect for that audience.
If you haven’t already played it I suggest you do so. If you have and you’re just waiting for PoE 2 come out, D4 won’t be holding your interest until it comes out that’s for sure.
poe is my main game and d4 is where i come after im bored with poe, and i want d4 to be grindy to hold my attention more than 1 week of gameplay
That’s exactly who the game should be balanced around.
Ok, two words. “Yeah, no”.
ARPG’s are all about grinding the same content over and over again
OK, but not in a limited Season!
not something done in 30h of gameplay.
Some of us have actual lives and jobs where we support our families, and this is un-tenable. If the game wants to survive, it needs to cater to the fact that people don’t play games for a living.
Keep you’re damn opinions to yourself. So you’re not happy with PoE, and so you use D4 as an off-point…but are disappointed at the grindy nature of D4, and want to make it worse?
So go complain to PoE to make it more grindy. WTF are you coming here to ask for more grindy in your SIDE GAME? Go ask PoE to be more grindy and GTFO of here.
Grinding (helltides, nm-dungeons, etc…) is feeling awesone and fluid now. Screens can be quickly wiped. Some say its too easy but what did we like to do with our D2 chars? Yes pewpewpew all dead. niahahahahaaaaa.
In addition the vampyre bonus skills are cool. I have a smile on my face everytime i use dash with my rogue… BOOM BOOM BOOM AoE as its finest.
I will really miss the Vampyr stuff. I love it.
When itemization will be better and some fixes here and there DIV metascore 666 out of 10.
As Guile would say.
“Go home and be a family man!”
It is super grindy. My inventory is beginning to fill will body parts and nonsense items so I can spawn some idiot that will drop crap uniques that I could already find elsewhere in the game. Varshan gave me a foot for Gods sake.
The droprate of rares/uniques on the vampyre event map is outta control. Every 2-3 Minutes porting to town, reading the items and salvage them.
I will see it as a present. Im swimming in gold, mats and unique items now.
Agree with Wilfire, the game is already super grindy…but it’s pointless from a reason more…you grind for gear that should make the pseudo end game more easy but that gear you get already from the end game bosses…and after you have that gear after farming 50000 duriels you get to equip it to just farm 50000 more duriels just for fun ? :))))))) … The game has literally no end game, the grind is always finished one way or another by players, the problem is that you have nothing to do after that grind ends. No aspirational content no nothing.
Thats totally right. But im pretty sure there are things coming.
I’m pretty sure that @KenKaio7 is just a troll, and we should stop feeding him.
oh so if my opinion dosent match with your im a troll ? that says alot about you m8
really hope that the metamorphosis power becomes a general class aspect
it’s so good to have a constant cc break and a dodge with iframes
can’t wait till i get flickering and can run a near 100% uptime shadow clone build
You’re opinion literally sucks. You’re trying to project the failures of PoE onto D4, and claiming that D4 needs to change to fix your boredom with PoE is literally flawed, putting it lightly.
Effort vs Reward is the wrong thing to focus on, we need challenges, i.e. something like this:
A lvl60 knight fights the same as a lvl100 one, a lvl60 vampire fights the same as lvl100, e.t.c., that must be changed
Or give us a Tier 5 set of affixes on loot (but roll them rarely and even implicitly at times) at the very least
We need both those things - game feel fresher and harder every 10 levels instead of the “same old” and “yaay I’m more powerful now” approaching
And most of all stop listen to those “Blizzard I don’t want to wait 5 seconds for this” type folk, i.e. those that focus on impatience and inconveniences (yes, include some folk from the pro scene), and b.t.w. after doing that they say “Blizzard give us endgame” (the irony)
The game should feel fresh and readaptable, not slow or fast, don’t care. It is not a problem whether or not we need 5 days or 5 weeks to level-up, what matters is not fight the same fights over and over again and having the only 2 changes in mobs be higher damage and HP (literally)
Yes my king, is there anything else these lowly servants can do for you?
