The game feels better

Still has a long ways to go but it feels a lot better than it did. I have a few ideas that would make the game better, at least to me anyways.

Transmogs are extremely limited and unless you buy over priced shop mogs, toons look meh. Also fix the fat Druid look. It’s dog water. Also Slutmogs would give an interesting angle to mogging as well.

Itemization is still terrible. I’m really tired of getting the same Legendary affix on unlimited different items. Most legendary effects are bad as well.

The game really is a lot better overall though. For the first time since the games existence, it feels playable. Great first steps. Just don’t stop there. She needs more work for sure.

They reduced the stops, slowdowns, and inconveniences

Which is kinda fine (kinda, so far ok, hope they don’t go all the way)

What worries me is this massive “trend” of feedback of turning D4 into LE or PoE

Bloating it with loot filters, expansion of skill trees, runes, runewords, crafting…

Just no, what D4 needs is optimize itemization to work better, diversify it in lategame more a bit, more established mob difficulty progression, and better implementation of features already existing

That’s before adding new layers/features at least

Agree that the game starting to feel better overall.

Season 2 is about where I think the game should have been on launch. There are still issues that need to be worked on; however, this feels like a good release point on the game minus the difficulty being a bit trivialized by Vampiric Powers (no clue if it feels better without them here, need to mess around on Eternal later this month).

Instead of being a bit of a “meh” status had the game launched in this state I think we would have seen a decent amount more satisfaction. Still a lot of stuff to work on but most of what I think needs to be done feels more like an expansion #1 fix to me than a seasonal fix.

I think Blizzard underestimate the value that a loot filter would have, this is the main reason why I don’t want to minmax my character and farm gear for different builds, I hate looking at 900 rares a day.

I wouldn’t quit a season as fast.

On the contrary, it’s overrated and it has much bigger downside than upside - it’s like playing a game under censorship

One might say it’s one of the worst features for the genre in general but hey, people want conveniences (and obviously have no time) so there’s that

At least as long as LF doesn’t exist we’ll be able to tell what’s wrong with the itemization exactly (and why), so not irrational to hope things can get better

If there is one thing Id like from POE it is the ability to move your cursor over the trash on the ground and being able to see stats so that I know what to pick up and what to leave. By level 80 I already have 45 million gold, plenty of salvage and no longer a need to pick up everything.

You are delusional, respectfully.

Maybe, it’s still better to not have it

I’ll also say that you guys have destroyed the game, well done “a RPG players” bravo, you deserve the reward of the century

Can’t stop for a 3 second break to see what loot was gotten from a huge fight where 10 blood boils produce vampires all the time.

3 seconds later - another round baby

No offense but you people have officially destroyed the game

You are probably too casual to understand the need for a loot filter. respectfully

Maybe

Or maybe you’re too obsessed with it so far that you’re willing to overbloat and destroy the game so you can use it

Imagine :star2:

Stop white knighting blizzard, nothing forces you to use the filter if you enjoy looking at 900 rares every day.

I’m not white-knighting, if anything much less than you

What you guys asked for has destroyed the game (literally), it’s bloated and XP generation simulator now, it’s not a game

Imagine thinking a loot filter would destroy the game, you are clueless, now if you’d excuse me, I need to stop talking to you because I am losing brain cells right now.

Perhaps you had an excess and I’m doing you a favor eh

Funny you say that. I literally just made this post talking about comparing it to POE Stop Compairing D4 to POE - #15 by DigiAngel-1481

D4 needs to be its own thing. Its not POE, stop trying to make it like POE. Learn from POE mistakes and make it better!

Totally agree. Its also great news that they got the D2R devs to come on during S2 to fix things. Thats why we got keys and bosses just like in D2. If they keep them on, I suspect the game will make a big comeback.

So i agree and disagree here. Nothing wrong with a simple lootfilter imo. Something like auto salvage any non legendary below ilvl (enter ilvl here). And honestly my only real issue with the game is the skills. Something just isnt right. I dont know if it is lack of skills total or what. Like i enjoy barrage, it is similar to multishot (from d2)… but foesnt give me that multishot feeling. Dont get me started on twisting blades, that just isnt my thing i really dont like it. I guess its just that there isnt a style of play that i really feel fits me perfectly. The game is still fun yo me, but i feel it could be better.

That’s alright, mentioned the features that are been “demanded” and the only reason why it’s done so is other games did it

Perhaps that is something to measure D4’s gameplay quality, maybe, but also not necessarily.

The point I want to make was the following:

If you treat D4 like a device/phone and look at it as a set of features, usb C ports, 100 MP cam, 5G, OLED screen, e.t.c., what’s the point ?, isn’t every game gonna end up “having to have” the same things ?, and to be frank the more the space is filled with the “standard” the less for new/creative things

That’s what I meant, not necessarily related to the filters. Personally think they should fix the loot instead of adding masks to it, but in general - “copy paste features” from one game to another isn’t necessarily a good thing was the point I was trying to make

My biggest problem is that its too easy to the point its actually a hindrance on my build.

I absolutely think they NEED to take some pages from POE and Last Epoch, particularly in the itemization and endgame system/gui department…in addition to what you mentioned: Loot filters are sorely needed, the game does lack skills…useable skills, runewords are interesting, and crafting only diversifies the game.

What I dont need to happen is your journy taking you 60-80 hours before any meaningful pinnacle bosses (POE) or to ahve overly complex crafting (POE) or overtuned boss fights that have loads of visual aids (POE). Lean a bit more into last epoch for those, last epoch is the perfect balance of an ARPG in my opinion.

Trust me, Im no POE fan boy (not anymore, not for years). Let the POE neckbeards have POE. I laugh when they think every ARPG needs to be like POE in order for it to be enjoyable.
