The game doesn't suck, but you need to give them more time :)

D3 launched May, 2012, with all of the same problems and same hatred by forum posters.

Problems didn’t really get all fixed until around August 2014, when D3’s first season launched.

D4 launched only 2 MONTHS AGO

The beta test was an “open beta test”, to see how the game would run on all the different systems that would be running the game.

They didn’t have one perfect machine to test it on and show that it would work for everyone!

Beta was not about finding out what you liked and didn’t like

That’s what they find out by launching the game, and reading what you really like and don’t like…everything you want IS COMING…but not right away

But you need to keep telling them though!

I’m 56, and I’ve played all of Blizzards games from when they launched. For all, it was the same thing.

On the forums, when the games launch, there were always a lot of posts about how bad the game sucked, and how stupid the company were for making what could be clearly seen as BAD by everyone (on the forums)

So keep telling them what you like and don’t like…because they have to know it, to give it to you

If it’s not changing fast enough for you, go play something fun!

Online games are always in development, and never finished.

That’s not an excuse.
People need to stop with this platitude.
The series is 25+ years old.

They have so much wisdom and experience to draw on from the previous games, esp when it comes to QoL improvements…the problem is the current team is applying little to none of that wisdom and XP in D4.

Diablo 3 never got fixed. Neither will Diablo 4. The core mechanics are broken. This doesn’t need a fix it needs an overhaul.

I agree with you.

But a lot of people here won’t so just be prepared to be roasted by the D4 hate gang.

You see, anytime someone posts something positive or any support towards blizzard or the dev team, the hate gang comes out in full force.

I wish it wasn’t a never ending cycle of the same mistakes though.

@Travisdead

Great post.
Players back in 2003 complained about Warcraft III Rein of Chaos when it first came out? I have heard quite a lot that Diablo II had a rocky start on launch.

They have no vets from the previous Diablo games. That would be where the wisdom would come from. The only one that could be is Joe Shely. They do have a former video game producer with Rod Fergusson who helped make what the Gears trilogy was. But he comes from a shooter background not one of Action RPG familiarity.

If they offer refund (not that 2hours bs) or atleast give 50% back than I will be patient and buy again if they fixed their game.

They won’t so they have to deal with their selfmade rage on all platforms. Especially the last years quality in games with high price tags were worse…and players should not excuse one of the biggest industries world wide.

Reaper of Souls was lit so you’re wrong.

I don’t care about your opinion so you don’t need to reply lol.

Launch content was not worth $70. It just wasnt. Its like you took any other ARPG and took out 3/4s of the content. And those are cheaper, or free. The value just isnt there. And I haaaaaaaate the “its coming” BS. Nah, it shoulda been here, you should be adding to it, not waiting for it to arrive.

So when a similar live service game comes out that doesn’t have these issues from day 1 of launch, we’re just supposed to accept a game that does? That’s horrible logic.

“I’m sorry sir, your surgery will have to wait, our brand new machines don’t work currently, we’re waiting for them to be updated”
“How long will that take?”
“A year? Maybe more? Who can say really”
“Oh that’s ok, I didn’t really need this life-saving surgery anyway, I understand”

We should have been delivered a complete game day 1.

We shouldnt be paying full price for a game and then giving them years to fix it.

This argument is pathetic.

It’s not functional. It’s a beta at best and we all got scammed.

D2 launch was fine. We all knew no better so there was nothing to compare it to. There were some problems with CD keys, but it was a different technological generation.

The heart of the problem is that people still reference 2001-2005, like its okay that these launches aren’t worked out.

I wouldn’t accept no plumbing in my shack either like it was 1885.

I’ll summarize this post and any other(s) who defend this type of stuff. It’s called “stockholm syndrome”.

There’s no excuse for them not learning from the mistakes of the previous entry. If this was a brand new studio making their first ARPG you could forgive them for a very shallow endgame experience, but this is the 4th entry in a genre-defining franchise…

Because it’s all relative, if the devs released diablo 2 today without any new features or code it would be buttery smooth…but that’s not the case, new technologies, new challenges. Many of the complaints (not ALL) simply have to do with the fact the game is a live service game in the first place and people expect to be able to push the needle for changes and iteration. Old school video games didn’t even get patches. If there was a bug you had to live with it.

This is the dumbest thing I have seen all day. You are the reason that games get released unfinished. People like you are what have allowed this type of practice to grow as much as it has in the gaming community. So thanks for nothing.

When I buy a game, I expect it to be a full game when I buy it. What if you went to buy a burger and you paid for it, and they gave you a bun with lettuce, and told you to come back next week and they will give you some cheese, and then the week after that and you would get some toppings, and a week after that and they give you the burger. It might be a great burger, but you probably would have wanted it when you paid for it.

This kind of practice and garbage and deceiving and should have never been allowed.

No, the game does suck, somewhat. I haven’t given up all hope (yet), but it was released in a less than stellar state. Not everything about it, but certainly enough to be a let down. None of the old developers are still around, but that is no excuse for releasing this version. Where are the event timers for world bosses, Helltides and Legion events? Why does the horse suck so bad? Who created the spaghetti code behind loading everybody’s stash into everyone’s game, thereby limiting stash tabs? That person needs to be tarred and feathered. No loot filter? The list is lengthy and I won’t list all of it here.

I’m still going to play, but they really do need to get their act together. Quick.

Whats wrong with these people defending multi bililon dollars companies that dosent give a damn about them… Is this some sickness?

That’s way too many smileys in a D4 post.
