The functionality of the Armory is bad in my opinion

To be honest, it’s just copied from D3 and even worse, not to mention the design of the window.

I would have hoped that after 12 years of D3’s existence, they would manage to redesign the Armory from scratch.

What I don’t like most is that the items are stored in the chest again.

I want the items to be stored in the Armory. Like a multiple inventory and then you can switch at the push of a button and everything stays in its place.

Look at Last Epoch and Poe with the much larger chests.

Blizzard has been stingy with space since 1995, when the game was created.

It’s 2024 and we have a whole 6 chest tabs in which you store legendary unique and mythical items, runes, materials.

The next thing will probably be that you will only get one tab every three months seasonally and the Eternal Realm player will be left empty-handed.

And now the items for all classes and 5 builds each are supposed to go in there. In D3 there were 10, why only 5 again?

It’s a step backwards, especially considering that more and more builds are being developed over time. So they’re being stingy with space again!

Blizzard will finally stop fooling us and yourselves.

If you bring this thing in, get it up and running properly and finally do something that makes sense.

The chest is too small for that. And the constant switching just causes chaos in the box, just like in D3, where many, many players have their own order.

PUT THE ITEMS THAT ARE IN THE ARMORY IN THERE, IN TERMS OF STORAGE, TOO.

We’ve arrived in 2024, folks…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m for the Armory and its necessity. But with more QoL and functionality and not just a cheap D3 knockoff. Copy and paste.

id wait for the ptr and post that in the ptr forums. I dont think this will reach anyone right now.

Two points:

1 - we have only seen a screen shot so it’s hard to judge.

2 - if they make the armory all singing and dancing on the first iteration, then they have nothing for ‘armory reborn’ later.

That’s a pretty long post just to complain about stash space

its a very basic copy-paste that doesnt serve the correct functionality, it reminds me of the skill tree with its atrocious graphics and logic.

if the functionality is there, then it is not bad.

however the user interface was so raw than a prototype, so raw that any programmer with even the slightest sense of shame wouldn’t dare put it up for internal testing, let alone release it to a public test.

 Gonna stop you there, if you’re a programmer being paid to make a product, it’s less about having a sense of shame and more about getting the job done. You can always tweak things in post, as has been the case with almost everything released after they started to get away from physical copies for video games.

All that being said, make sure to leave your feedback on the PTR forum when the PTR becomes available again.

Honestly the armoury from D3 looked way better. Could have just copied that and improved upon.

I agree having all stored in chest is annoying.

emm… user interface design and polishing are also part of the job, and the company is paying for that job to be completed.

Oh agreed they are, but those are tweaked when the user gives feedback about it, not before. Most programmers by design use what works first, then tweak it to look pretty after. They also have to go for functionality. Things they may have missed from the users side.

It may look good to the programmer for the moment, but definitely not to the user, that’s all I’m saying. There’s no shame in making a product that works, there is shame in keeping it status quo without improvements after the users have given feedback though.

the menu looks like windows entering safe mode, or some fisher price UI for kids.
take a look and you know what i mean.

Oh I saw it, and I don’t disagree with you. I’m just saying they won’t take feedback on it until the PTR is released. Just like they don’t take feedback on patches before they’re released.

How many times have you seen this forum lose its mind over a campfire or live stream for an upcoming patch and Blizzard doing absolutely nothing between those streams and the patch? Every. Single. Time.

It’s a step forward for D4 because armory doesn’t exist yet.

But we can discuss it here and everyone is invited to give their opinion. The more of us there are, the better the chances that Blizz will see it and improve it enormously…

of course the PTR is coming, I don’t know if I’ll have time to play there.

That’s why I wanted to make my point of view known and encourage everyone to give their opinion on the Armory.

That’s the only way we can hope that it will be improved…

Blizz needs some support from us at the moment because a lot has failed recently.

But I don’t think it’s the fault of the programmers and artists, they’re doing a fantastic job.

The things that are included in Diablo or not are decided today at the management level, what is developed or not.

They’re just business people and they only have money, i.e. maximum profit, in mind.

And that’s not good for us players.

Agreed, would definitely suggest saving it for the PTR forum when the PTR goes live. They won’t listen before then though, as we all know from previous patch reveals.

I’ll be playing the PTR myself and giving lots of feedback.

read this in context please, its a step backward, because D3 had 10 Armory Places, thats is what i said

yep, i get it, is like a donkey that need to get whip before willing to move.

If you compare D4 in the context of other games, I am pretty sure you would find a lot of backwards stuff.

But we don’t do that because this is D4 forum and not D3.

If I wanna read about D3 notes, I will go to that section instead.

One thing I think should be easy for them to implement in relation to the armoury is to make a button like the wardrobe is now. I see no reason we should need to be somewhere specific to access it again.

They can’t even give us more regular stash tabs without crashing the client due to technical reasons, what makes you think they will have enough room to store items in the armory?
